QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Life starts at the moment of conception. Psalms 139: 13–14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together and my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful I know that full well.
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
The protection of the mothers life such as ectopic pregnancy, lethal fetal anomalies, rape, or incest.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Neutral
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
Redefine the tax code. We should consider going to a value added tax in place of income tax. This move could potentially eliminate a large portion of the IRS. By having a value added tax on goods to exclude certain items that are necessities for life such as food, everyone would then have skin in the game. We need to relook at military budgets there is a massive amount of wasteful spending at the end of each fiscal year. Only citizens should be eligible for government aid and benefits.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
If said good and services can be obtained from another merchant/business then I believe it is acceptable to decline a customer. The cases that seem to come up frequently deal with marriage between same-sex couples and providing marriage services such as a wedding cake. In such a case this is not a life and death matter and there should be an option for the store owner to decline said services. The individual who is seeking to make this purchase should consider taking their business elsewhere.
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
There will not be a state sponsored mandated religion. There is a Supreme Court case Holy Trinity Church v. US 1892; which was unanimous Supreme Court decision that stated that that Judeo-Christian religion and principles are the foundation of our nation and all of our laws and cannot be separated. Additionally, the First Amendment states it is freedom of religion not freedom from religion. US Constitution Art4 Sec3 via Northwest Ordinance; Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary...
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Disagree
I believe if we had such as system and/or got to a single payer government sponsored healthcare system, would result in a two-tiered system one for the haves (political Elite and Rich) and the have nots blue color. The end result would be rationed healthcare system.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
This is really a combination of A and B. I believe that anytime we can assist with the spread of democracy that we should give consideration to providing aid. Our nation would not be what it is today had others not intervened on our behalf 250 years ago.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, Israel is a stabilizing force within the Middle East and critical for the spread of democracy within this region.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Strongly Agree
We as a nation under our constitutional mandate cannot allow for the spread of Sharia Law within our borders.
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Individuals who are willing to assimilate to the American Way of life and who can add value to our national fabric are welcome.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
Sanctuary cities should not receive any federal funding.
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
It is a basic business and military concept to handle things at the lowest possible level of the end-user. The problem with the US Department of education it is overloaded with bureaucrats, who are removed from the situation. Additionally, this drives up the cost of education of our youth.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Neutral
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
Luke 17: 2 It would be better for him to have a Millstone hung around his neck and be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Matthew 19: 4–6 Haven't you read, he replied, that at the beginning the creator made them male and female and said for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together let no one separate.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a follower of Christ! I have been married for nearly 47 years to my childhood sweetheart. We live our lives based on Christian beliefs and values. I have actually helped author legislation in Mississippi to return the Bible to the school system. In the Mississippi State constitution Bill of Rights article 3 section 18 it states that the Holy Bible is part of the school system and shall not be separated.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
If you have to show an ID for business commerce such as cashing a check or to board a plane. Then you should need to show an ID to prove you are eligible to vote.
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear, appears to be the most reliable electrical source at this time. However, we need all forms of energy. Energy is the life blood to the American economy. We need clean coal, natural gas, petroleum, hydrogen, wind, solar, and hydroelectric.
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
no.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe it would be of benefit to eliminate gun free zones. Additionally, I believe if an individual holds a gun permit for example concealed carry in Mississippi, it should be good in all 50 states. My driver's license and marriage license are good in all 50 states so why is it not the same for your gun permit. If an individual has mental illness and/or is a sociopath then perhaps their individual firearm ownership should be called into question.
