RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
In order to preserve the life of the mother.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
I believe this is state matter, in Mississippi the State Law had gone to the US Supreme Court Dobbs v. Jackson and is now settled case law.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It is freedom of religion! It is not freedom from religion. The statement “separation of church and state,” is not in our founding documents. There is a Supreme Court ruling in the case of Holy Trinity Church v US 1892. This was unanimous Supreme Court decision that stated that Judeo-Christian principles were the foundation of all of our laws, and could not be separated from the nation.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Disagree
In recent news stories there have been bakeries and florists sued for not wanting to provide services ie to a homosexual wedding. I personally would not refuse service. I will not cast the first stone. That being said the consumer could easily use another vendor. A private business is just that private and should be able to decline service for religious reasons.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B, the USA needs to stand with our allies. In the case of Afghanistan there were several fatal errors made with this early withdrawal. The USA spent too much blood and treasure to have just walked away. A small peace keeping force should have remained in country. In war college it is my understanding that it takes three generations to create the necessary social changes to effect permanent social change to a given population.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
We need to remove manufacturing of USA goods and services from the control of the CCP.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East. Their beliefs system, and philosophies more closely, reflect that of United States than any other nation within the Middle East.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
I am a retired military officer. Poor leadership from the top down is killing our military recruitment. The military does not need Warriors who are fabulous, we need Warriors who are fearless. The DEI and Woke agenda are pulling down the fabric of the nation.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I believe there needs to religious exemption. In the case of the military, standard proven vaccination maybe required in order to have a rapid deployment force (RDF). A vaccine that is experimental cannot be required.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C; and Private Health Insurance. Socialized Medicine has been a failure in most places it has been tried. The end result is the rationing of care. If you are 70 year old and need coronary bypass grafting, (CABG) in a socialized medicine system you’re likely not going to get such surgery.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
We need to cut waste and spending, at the same time lower taxes.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
I feel it would be unfair to make the American Taxpayer foot the bill for another’s educational debt. There are debt relief programs for education cost that are associated with serving in the military or working in underserved communities. Additionally, there should be counseling required when a young person goes to college outlining the cost of said degree and income potential for the degree they are pursuing.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
ESG investment by the government has been bad for the American people. The government has done a poor job of picking winners and losers. The end result is the taxpayers money’s have been wasted on things like companies associated with the Green New Deal.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Any individual who entered the country illegally is not entitled to federal or state aid. Additionally if by chance they ever become a citizen since they initially entered the country illegally. Then they would never be allowed to vote in a federal election.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Individuals who can add worth to nation and provide for themselves. Additionally, if an immigrant volunteers to serve a six year term in the military and receives an honorable discharge then they are entitled to be a citizen.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
If you are a foreign national in the USA you should not be able to buy and take possession of a firearm. I believe the 2nd Amendment is rooted in the first battle of the Revolutionary War. The battle of Lexington and Concord, April 19, 1775. Part of the reason for this battle was to seize cannons owned by the civilian populous. The Militia Act of 1792 stated that every abled body male was to own a military grade weapon.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
At what point would there be enough seats? As power changes from one political party to another then the party in power would be wanting to stack the court to favor their inorder to support their beliefs and policies.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Free enterprise, limited government, individual liberties, national defense, and traditional values. I have drafted a bill for the state of MS on daily prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance in the public school system. I am also MS State Chairman for U.S. Term Limits.
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The federal governments roll is to defend the nation. As a republic the federal government also regulates interstate and foreign commerce, declare war and sets taxing/spending as well as other national policies.
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
No individual should be allowed to under go gender reassignment procedures or surgery until 21 years old. If you can’t drink until you are 21 years old how can you make such a life altering decision.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I’m a Christian! My belief system is strongly rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I believe in the authority of scripture, which says that the Bible is God's inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word. It's the ultimate source for knowledge about God and the definitive guide for our daily lives. Man is a physical and spiritual being who is created in God's image. But man has lost his fellowship with God because of his sin or transgression. The extent of sin is so great that its effects continue to this very day. There is no way to father except through the son. John 3:16 ESV ”“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.“
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
You need a photo ID to conduct the simplest business/transactions in our society. Why would voting be any different?
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
Without the Electoral College then the Presidential Election would be decided by just a handful of states (California, New York, Florida, Pennsylvania etc…).
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
America was not founded in 1619. The foundation of America started with the battle of Lexington and Concord April 19, 1775.
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Disagree
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate notified iVoterGuide that he misread the question, and his answer should have been, " Biological males (transgender) have no place is women's sports and restrooms."
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
We need to use all forms of energy. Energy is the life blood of the American economy, and society. We should be using clean coal, petroleum, hydrogen, nuclear, wind, solar, and hydroelectric; eventually a green form of energy may win out, but in the meantime, we need to use all of our available assets.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear and Clean Coal
