QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To preserve the life of the mother, and early term for victims of rape and incest
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
No one should be denied the right to purchase pre-produced goods, however, individuals should not be required to violate their beliefs to provide custom goods whose content, design, message, or use violates their personal beliefs.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We should continue to work with our allies across the globe to target violent extremists and undermine their networks and funding support. We should also be prepared, where necessary, to engage in targeted military actions, but should not seek to permanently occupy territory outside of our borders.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
Israel has a right to defend itself against extremist violence. Israeli citizens, including Arab-Palestinian citizens, enjoy the complete range of human rights and privileges that aren't available in any other country in the Middle East. BDS is an anti-Semitic, ideologically-based, movement that has no place in our government or society.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C) Medicare and Medicaid should remain available, but otherwise competition in the marketplace is critical to maintaining both the quality and variety of healthcare options for individuals, and government mandates restricting the types of coverages available should be removed.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Religious exemptions should always be available. However, proven and fully tested vaccines for things like the measles, TB, or other highly deadly diseases should remain in place where they have always existed.
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I support cutting taxes across the board. However, the tax codes at both our state and national level should be vastly simplified as well so that any individual filing a standard return can do it themselves in a matter of minutes.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I'm running for Governor of Arizona, where we already have a surplus in our budget, and have pledged to cut taxes every year I'm in office. However, there are a number of state programs that are duplicative, and eliminating or combining these programs to achieve cost savings is essential to my plan to both cut taxes, and improve state services
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
College isn't the right option for everyone, and government-funded student loans are the major driver of massive cost increases for university tuition. We should strive to reduce costs at our state universities rather than subsidize the continued inflation of college tuition. My plan also calls for significant investment in technical education, so students can earn a technical degree in their final two years of high school, and adults have more options to improve their economic opportunities.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I have pledged to declare an invasion on our Southern border on my first day in office and secure Arizona's border using our rights under Article I, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution. We have a crisis, Biden is making it worse, and if the federal government won't protect us, the state must step up to do so.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We should welcome legal immigration designed to meet the needs of our economy and society.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
My education policy supports 100% school choice, funding students not systems. Please read more about it here: https://www.karilake.com/education-policy
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
Qualified immunity is essential for police officers to do their jobs properly, and safely make it home to their families at the end of their shift. Ending qualified immunity would put the lives of officers and citizens at risk, and lead to an avalanche of spurious lawsuits targeting police from activist lawyers.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
We need to improve mental health and drug treatment services, but cannot do so by cutting or redirecting police funds which would only exacerbate our exploding crime. We need to increase police funding and pay, not defund them.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We have laws on the books to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous criminals, we need to enforce those laws, not create new ones that only limit the ability of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
We need to hold individuals accountable and stop playing catch-and-release with dangerous criminals, not try to target firearms dealers and manufacturers by blaming inanimate objects for the actions criminals.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To provide for the safety, security and civil liberties of their citizens.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I am an America First, Arizona First conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am an America-First, Trump Republican, and I will put the citizens of Arizona first in every decision I make. Arizona's next governor must have the vision, and commitment to address the major problems we are facing from our border to water, crime, housing, homelessness, a failing government education system and more.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Our country was built on Judeo-Christian values, and the principles of self-reliance, charity, and community created by the Judeo-Christian moral framework cannot be replicated or replaced by government.
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Gender identity should not be enshrined in protected class status, not least of all because doing so will place numerous children at risk of life-altering surgical and chemical procedures without even the guidance or knowledge of their parents.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Neutral
This issue has been decided by the Supreme Court, I'm not trying to relitigate this when there are so many other areas we need to affect change in like CRT, abortion, open borders, and transgender ideology in our schools.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
CRT is a racist ideology that has no place in our schools, businesses or government. We cannot be teaching children that the color of their skin dictates the content of their character. CRT is telling white kids they're hateful and Black kids that they're oppressed. It is a hateful ideology.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am Christian, and the principles of my faith guides all my decisions and life-choices.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Photo identification should be required 100% of the time for our elections
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Eliminate drop boxes, require automatic audits of close elections, and either end ballot by mail, or require security features for it that eliminate ballot trafficking and ensure that the individual casting the vote is the person who was supposed to receive the ballot in the first place.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. While we always strive to create a more fair and equal society, the United States is not systemically racist.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) Environmentalists always say we are one earth, but they don't act like it. Is a mine in a developing country less of a threat to the global environment than one here? We need to produce the materials and products Americans need here at home, and we cannot let out-of-control environmental regulation prevent us from doing so,
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Clean burning natural gas is the biggest driver of reduced fossil fuel emissions worldwide in recent years, fracking in the United States is critical to returning us to energy independence.
