OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If the mother will die as a direct result of carrying a child to the age of viability outside the womb and there are no possible options for saving her life through early delivery or other means that protect the life of the child, I think the mother must have the decision over her own life and the course of treatment.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Strongly Disagree

Socialism provides a robust foundation for a stable economy.

Strongly Disagree

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Unemployment is less of a problem than poor employment--jobs that don't provide a living wage for a family. The first step is to reduce the number of people flooding the country willing to take substandard pay. The second step is to heavily tax slave-labor produced goods from abroad and divert that revenue to tax rate reductions for citizens. Such tariffs will also make pricing reflective of living wages and help American businesses compete. Living-wage policies must also address pay gaps between the executive suite and the producer class. Businesses that provide healthcare, personal, and long-term care insurance and retirement and other benefits must receive tax relief NOT tax penalties for doing so. Education must be reinvented to focus on marketable skills, not political indoctrination. Finally, the government must end perpetual welfare. There are very few people who cannot do anything. If one receives a check from the government, one should work in some capacity for society.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government is the primary drain on the economy. Maybe denying pay to legislators if they don't produce a balanced budget each year is a good start. Since we have government schools, they should be reformed to generate competent students. General education should end with the completion of 10th grade. In 11th and 12th grade, students should have the choice of a 2-year trade certification or a 2-year college prep. Tariffs on slave-labor produced goods from abroad or goods produced by mega polluters should be mandated at high enough levels to even their price with those of American companies paying a living wage and using cleaner methods of production. The import of foreigners to work in America, taking jobs from our laborers and college grads, must end. If we don't have qualified people, train them. All government contracts should mandate use of made in the USA products.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or business owners because of their deeply held religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not penalize those who define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Insurance--health and medical malpractice--costs too much. We need caps on med mal noneconomic damage. We should have a baseline, state-provided medical fund for all childhood vaccinations, infections and wound care, as well as care for extremely poor citizens (like Medicare but not so expansive) and emergency life-saving measures. For extended care, chronic disease, end-of-life care and wellness, people can participate in health insurance or for-fee healthcare organizations. The cost of these privately provided services can be borne by employers, employees, individuals, associations of individuals/groups, or a combination thereof. All medical costs should be untaxed and payable from a tax-deductible account, such as an HSA, which should be available for anybody, not just those in high-deductible plans. We also need to reassess pharmaceutical costs since the development of many drugs is funded, at least in part, by tax dollars funnelled through universities and other public coffers.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

I support sanctuary cities.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

Strongly Disagree

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Strongly Disagree

Free speech is under attack on public university and college campuses.

Strongly Agree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The Founding Fathers doubted man's ability to govern without sliding into tyranny/mob mentality and knew the insidious power of money, greed and graft. In Federalist 10, Madison says: "Men of factious tempers, local prejudices or sinister designs may by intrigue, corruption or other means obtain suffrages then betray the people's interests." In Fed 51, he says that, since mankind is prone to abuse of power, our system of government must "arrange the several offices...to be a check on the other."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

BrodyForVirginia.com

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have served my community for 35 years in many volunteer and leadership roles from education to adopt-a-highway to church, youth, and HOA projects. I have interfaced with the most powerful people in this commonwealth and nation and the poorest and most defeated people among us and know the concerns and needs of both. My work in the intelligence community and private sector has honed my awareness of how bureaucracies and private companies succeed and fail--and how public policy affects them all.

I am a pro-life America First candidate who believes that Our Lady's model of living is best: 100% love of others out of 100% love of God. Remember what Augustine said: Peace is the tranquility that derives from order.
