Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Under no circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed; however, protecting women is crucial and they should be kept safe with life-saving care in event of pregnancy complications. Texas abortion laws must require simplification to ensure this care is provided without legal ambiguity for doctors and patients. Medical ethics recognizes a woman’s fundamental right to life, which means her well-being is not secondary to the baby when faced with severe risks.
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Although the Comstock Act was passed by Congress in 1873, it is very relevant today in protecting women, young girls, and sex trafficking victims from the harmful and dangerous impacts of self-managed abortions. Unregulated, self-administration of abortion-inducing drugs without medical supervision often leads to medical risks from improper use or counterfeit medications. Additionally, many complaints of the emotional and legal implications of abortion-inducing drugs are on the rise.

What is your position on the minimum wage?
I support a minimum wage that promotes economic stability without hindering job growth. Impacts made on small businesses must also be considered. These impacts include hiring fewer people and greater reliance on automation.

To eliminate government waste, I will evaluate local and state government programs and partnerships with private entities using three distinct priorities . Programs and partnerships must achieve their effectiveness with evidence. Each program must validate that it has the necessary statutory or local government authority to operate and with transparency for citizens. Each program must comply with Texas State and U.S. Constitutions and must not violate any constitutional rights.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state means that the state cannot enforce a state religion. Every citizen has the right to choose his or her own religion without government involvement.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. This is not enough! I understand the desire to eliminate the U.S. DOE and return control to the states; however, this is a false sense of control. As SBOE Member for District 14, I saw firsthand the centralized power exerted by the state of Texas over academic, assessment, and teaching practices. What we must aim for is both federal and state governments returning control to local communities and parents, where traditional teaching and pedagogy practices will be the focus of academics.
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Foreign funding of American education is a national security threat and should be banned. Foreign networks should also be prohibited from receiving taxpayer dollars from school choice funds for private and charter schools. For example, Florida's universal voucher program has awarded millions of dollars toward the expansion of Islamic and Chinese influenced private schools. As Texas Governor, I will block foreign networks from receiving Texas's new Education Freedom Accounts voucher funds.

Additionally, the government should recognize that all parental rights are given by God. Parents, not the state, have the fundamental right to determine what is in the best interest and well-being of their child. The government has no right to come between the decisions of parents for their children.

I have a strong moral compass that is deeply rooted in my faith in Christ Jesus. I practice compassion, love, and service to others; often putting others before myself. These values are fundamental in my Christian belief where my actions count more than my words. For the past three years while serving on the Texas State Board of Education, I have upheld my Oath of Office when making every decision. This oath is to protect, preserve, and defend the U.S. and Texas State Constitutions. I do not compromise my oath under any circumstances or outside pressure. I answer to God and not to man for the decisions that I make on behalf of the People that I serve and lead.

The goal of the criminal justice system is to ensure equal justice with fair treatment under the law for everyone while protecting rights and upholding the rule of law. Public safety must be maintained and crime must be deterred. The state must also ensure the safety of inmates and staff, while helping offenders reintegrate into society.
