QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
Under no circumstances. I fully agree with plank #36 of the Republican Party of Texas Platform that life begins at conception and that the unborn deserve equal protection under the law from the point of conception.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Disagree
There should be no abortions under any circumstances.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
The use of federal tax dollars to fund abortions against the public will of Texans justifies virtually any action by the states to put an end to this practice.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Under no circumstances can government close churches. Our right to worship freely is a natural right that comes from God, and this right cannot be bargained away or usurped by any entity. Our Texas Bill of Rights protects this right (Article 1, Sec 6), as does the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Forcing individuals into commerce is a form of slavery.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Genesis 12:2-3 tells us that the nations who bless the descendents of Abraham will be blessed, and those who curse them will be cursed. Isreal is one of the few steadfast and true allies of the United States, yet we continue to give foreign aid to Isreal's enemies, whose interests are against the values of these United States.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. but as a society we need to move to D. We should live up to the promises made to our Seniors and those close to retirement age, and find a way to phase out the system to allow people to have better coverage which they completely control. Government has proven to be terrible provider of any service, and healthcare is not a proper function of government.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Under no circumstances. I support amending the Texas Constitution to affirm individuals' unalienable rights in employment, travel, education, business interactions, access to governmental services, and all other actions.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
I oppose minimum wage increases due to concerns about potential job losses, the impact on small businesses, disruption of market forces, and the risk of automation replacing low-skilled jobs.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
ESG scores have become an all-too powerful tool to influence our behavior and challenge our way of life. ESG scoring coerces businesses into practices that don’t align with our conservative values.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Since the entrance of Texas into the Union in 1845, the federal government has consistently failed to protect the border of Texas. Most recently, the United States has in every way facilitated the invasion of Texas by citizens of foreign nations. The border of Texas was bought by the blood of Texian patriots and it is ultimately the responsibility of Texas to ensure that the border is secured. Texas must achieve autonomy over our own borders.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. A well-armed society is a polite society. An armed populace is the ultimate check on a despotic government.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The singular function of government is to protect the liberties of the people.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I am a "Jeffersonian conservative." I believe in local self government, that states and communities should be as self-sufficient as possible, and I believe in a central government of very few and enumerated powers. The current relationship between Texas and the federal government is completely devoid of any semblance of constitutional adherence. Our American founding fathers, or our Texas ancestors who agreed to enter the union in 1845 would be appalled by the current situation.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born-again Christian. Heaven and earth were created by God in six days and man was made in His image. God is quintessentially just, and being that we are each born into sin in a fallen world, the only way that we can reconcile ourselves with the Father is by accepting the resurrected Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. I believe that the Scriptures in their original form represent the inerrant Word of God and represents the authority for how we should live. I believe in the Holy Spirit, and I believe Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead, and that his Kingdom will have no end.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Allowing non-citizens to vote will just as surely disenfranchise actual voters as any other subversive tactic that has been employed since the founding of America.
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Our country is, as we speak, stoking the fires of racism by indoctrinating our children with cultural marxism via Critical Race Theory/Social Emotional Learning, our military "extremism" training, and employees via "woke" ethics training in nearly every corporation in America. The greatest risk to America is a society that believes it is the government's responsibility to equalize the outcomes of each citizen.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Here in Texas we have a practically infinite supply of natural gas. We are also fairly unique in that we have substantial uranium reserves. Both have been found to be reliable sources of thermal energy production that we should make the most of.
