OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Neutral

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Disagree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As I wrote above, if there is a God, then s/he gave us free will and a conscience. I do not believe that conception necessarily is a "Gift of God," though that is why I middle-named my son Matthew. My God would not allow rape to lead to conception nor for those who would be wonderful parents to be barren. I must believe that it is up to the individual and her God-given conscience.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Neutral

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

State--I would redirect some funding from criminal justice into mental health and substance abuse treatment. Federal--I would redirect "Defense" funding into Climate Change and COVID--the Defense Dept. stated that Climate Change IS a security issue AND we all know that COVID is.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Disagree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

No Answer

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means no government-decreed religion. Many Americans are appalled at countries which have such, but do not understand how much of that our country might already permit. It means one's religious choices and manners of worship should be protected so long as another is not harmed.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Universal single-payer has been shown to be far more cost-effective than the greed-driven current system and it would cover "all God's children."

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Disagree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Ever since the natives let the Europeans in, immigration has been a problem. All of us "whites" came from immigrants, often fleeing from persecution, at times simply seeking greener grass. It is difficult to determine who would be true disruptors and threats to security. I do not know how to draft a law that would keep out those who might be dangerous. There is room and food enough for all if well-managed.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Neutral

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

A Christian couple who consulted me for legal advice said they would tell their friends that I was a Christian attorney, because of my ethics. Later, I had to sue them for my well-earned modest fees. (?!) Another attorney did not boast about being a Christian, but he certainly lived it, according to what I read in the New Testament. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," describes it well. We are our "brother's keeper." And "God don't make junk," and that includes those who are born with genital parts of both sexes and must decide which they are most.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Liberal

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

"But for the grace of God" are some people born into wealth and others into poverty. Therefore, I would apply that we are our "brother's keeper."

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

A degree in Education--education is a chief responsibility of the states. Criminal justice is a second major issue and my law degree and decades of experience as an attorney will help with that. I've had periods of poverty in my life, as a child, as a single-parent (married 3 1/2 yrs before husband left me with a 3-month old!) and worked as a caseworker--few people "deserve" poverty. Our environmental laws need to be tightened to protect God's green earth from greed by business owners who do not care about it.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I read the entire Bible at one time (except I skipped over the "begats" and now I do genealogy for part-time work. How ironic!) I wish all those who call themselves "Christian" would read and follow the New Testament. I want them to know that the Good Samaritan was among a group that in those times was looked down upon, yet lived the Golden Rule. We have other groups now looked down upon, despite my belief that "God don't make junk."

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Better background checks; ability of family to have guns at least temporarily removed if their loved one is going through emotional problems; strong education about safety to keep guns and ammunition out of hands of children; I see no reason for military assault weapons to be in the hands of civilians and often to not be in the hands of our military either.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

No Answer

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Agree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Progressive income tax to be a fair source of income to help pay for education. Review criminal law to make some "crimes" be non-jailable infractions instead. Put teeth into environmental protection statutes.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

It certainly is. If God gave us diversity, we should not categorize people based on differences and mistreat some because of them. In Biblical times, it was the Egyptians making slaves of the children of Abraham. It is revolting behavior and could lead to exactly that, more severe than locusts.
