QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

They should not receive federal funds given the recent US Supreme Court Decision in Dobbs.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When the health of the mother is at risk. I do not support late term abortions

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Disagree

Government should be focus on training our citizens - The mantra of Teach a man to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime rings true. Pure income distribution and welfare programs without training just lead to more dependence and other health and wellness issues.

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

The government should be run like a business and if the revenue is less the spending needs to be reduced. A government with high national debt is a threat to our national security. There is one reason to increase spending - absolute emergencies

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Simplify the code and seek solutions to make it easier to reduce the administrative burden for IRS

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in this country and the Covid crisis resulted in shutting down religious institutions and rejection of religious exemptions in my home state. Our Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and it should be preserved. If it is at risk, then all of our inalienable rights are at risk.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

America is a democracy and absent violating existing discrimination rules on the books, shop owners should be free to turn away business patrons that disrupt their business practices

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

The relationship should be separate as intended by our founding fathers

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Where such vaccinations are tested and have a long history of data behind them. The number of vaccines have drastically increased over the past 30 years and as a physician, I believe in the science. No child, worker should be mandated to take any experimental or emergency authorized vaccine to work or attend school.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

I believe in Medicare and with respect to heathcare, I believe that all Americans should be afforded with catastrophic health coverage and not go bankrupt for hospital admissions. As a physician and attorney, our existing health care regulatory framework accounts for 25 percent of all healthcare spending which could be radically reduced to be cost-effective. Doctors spend too much time filling out paperwork. I also believe in private healthcare and the general belief that the private sector can provide such programs at more cost-effectively with better outcomes than the government with the benefit of competition.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. However, we are currently in a situation where we really need to take care of Americans First and address the National Security issues at our borders and the influx of illegal drugs, sex and human trafficking and the crime associated with such activity and resulting deaths to Americans, especially in drug overdoses.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

I think BDS is one of the worst foreign policies ever initiated in this country.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

This threat gets stronger each day yet we need policies to reduce our dependence on Chinese products and influence in our economy and government leaders.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Restrict funding to governments that support or do not prevent the growth of such terrorist organizations in their countries. We need to continue to educate on the issues and actively support and fund our allies that actively fight Islamic terrorism.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Our border worked fine prior to the current administration. It has become a challenge that has ruined this country. I believe in legal immigration that resulted in the growth of this country and the path of my ancestors. We need to complete the wall restore our immigration policies and encourage our Mexican and South American neighbors to keep these caravans and deter them from crossing our borders.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

We Cannot use state and federal funds to encourage illicit activity

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those that follow the proper immigration channels. Asylum recipients that deserve it should also be allowed.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Neutral

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

CRT does not work and indoctrination is a disservice to all Americans. It causes racial division in the classrooms. All Americans Are Equal under the Constitution.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a religious man who believes in God and supports my temple. I respect all religion and no one should be discriminated based on their religious and spiritual beliefs.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We need photo ID to travel and to return items at all stores. I disagree with the belief that Americans do not have the ability to get photo ID. Also even those on welfare programs tend to have Photo ID on their benefits cards so the assertion that it is discriminatory is not a credible one.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Voter ID at the polls, and some kind of Pin on return of absentee ballot envelopes to prevent ballot harvesting

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

The fear instilled upon Americans about race is causing racism and the racial division in this country creating a false domestic security threat.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

We need Domestic Energy

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. The other aspect of this is that we can use smart nuclear to go green which is overlooked in hysteria around the nuclear power plants of the 1950s and 1960s

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I am a constitutional conservative that believes in the constitutional guarantees of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness regardless of race, religion and sexual orientation.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

NO

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My priorities are to reform Healthcare and apply the approach of efficient regulation to make healthcare affordable and apply this approach to all administrative agencies that have made running a business impossible.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

Qualified Immunity needs to be restored to our police and first responders.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

Our Police and First responders need to be properly funded. The police community programs such as Police Athletic Leagues and other community outreach need to be encouraged. Also with respect to mental health, more funding needs to be earmarked for police and counseling especially after situations involving service revolver discharge.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe that the background checks are needed. Connecticut is one of the most challenging states to own a gun and it is too onerous. Something consistent is needed along with the ability to create for the possibility of reciprocity of gun ownership laws in other states. Unfortunately most gun violence is through illegal firearms so more regulation will not reduce illegal weapons.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Disagree

With the exception of illegally sold and manufactured firearms. The importation and manufacture of illegal firearms needs to be stopped.
