QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None. In cases that involve the life of the mother, the doctor should be allowed to either induce labor early or perform an emergency c-section to deliver the baby early and save the life of the mother, but an actual abortion procedure isn't medically necessary in that situation. In addition, removing an ectopic pregnancy isn't actually an abortion procedure, according to an opinion released by then Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I've introduced bills in the Kansas house to ban abortion.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

It should be repealed.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

I've introduced bills in the Kansas house to defend private property.

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Cut or eliminate corporate welfare spending within the Department of Commerce, reduce the size of the state workforce through attrition, reduce or eliminate administrative bloat within public schools.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that the state can't interfere with the church. It doesn't mean that there can't be religious displays in government buildings. The writings of our founders made this clear.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I support a free market healthcare system. Theoretically, I don't think that Medicaid or Medicare should've been created to begin with. However, particularly in regard to Medicare, since people have paid into the program their entire lives, it probably can't be abolished. However, I support the plan by former Congressman Paul Ryan to convert it to a voucher type program, where the government would simply provide retired people with money to pay for their own private insurance.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

I believe that the United States should be friends with Israel and maintain a good relationship with them. However, when our country is 40 trillion in debt I support ending all foreign aid to all countries.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose sanctuary cities but also believe that the government should obtain judicial warrants before detaining those they believe to be illegal immigrants, rather than relying entirely on administrative warrants.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

I believe the U.S Department of Education is unconstitutional because it's not specifically enumerated in Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S Constitution.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

I voted to ban sex change operations and hormone blockers for children in the Kansas house.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

Ultimately, I think that state owned casinos shouldn't exist but that individuals and private businesses should be allowed to open up their own private casinos.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that we're saved by accepting Christ's death and resurrection on the cross for our sins.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I believe that voter ID laws are common sense.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

The earth is warming, but it's not clear how much of it is natural and how much of it is man made, and I don't realistically think that the government is capable of actually cooling the planet.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Most likely nuclear energy. However, I support a free market within energy and don't believe that the government should pick one form of energy over any other form of energy.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

To keep violent criminals who are likely to harm others separated from the rest of society.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Strongly Agree

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Very few. I strongly support the 2nd Amendment. I believe there should be an age requirement of some kind to buy firearms, so that young children aren't walking into stores and buying firearms.
