QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe life begins at conception and abortion shall not be allowed except in the rare circumstances of preserving life of the mother. However, I do believe that it can't stop there--there must be support, programs and benefits to the mother for making the right decision to carry the pregnancy through, regardless of the circumstances.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would like to see more transparency and accountability in the state budget. As I've done in my own business and family, expenditures cannot exceed revenue. Sometimes tough decisions must be made.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government shall not infringe on someone's right to practice their faith in the manner they desire.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

First, I believe all sides of the healthcare industry needs to have checks and balances and looked at in order to be sure not one arm is controlling others. I would like to see programs that allow for people to have available to them a choice of: government subsidized, (based on income and in some cases, with a step plan, allowing them to be weaned off the system, as their education and income rises); personal, private pay (preventative and major medical); employer, private pay; as well as concierge styled plans. Not a one-size fits all--and with the flexibility of life changes.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Neutral

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

As a state representative, I am not involved with laws of immigration. That is almost exclusively part of federal government.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My life is guided by my Biblical worldview with Jesus as my Savior and one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. I also believe it is vital to listen and encourage with love and understanding in order to discern and make wise decisions.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a wife, mother and business owner, I understand family and business and what it takes to run an organization of people who may or may not think the same way as me or any one else. I value collaboration as well as designing systems and foundations that can handle life and society changes, in order for the people in that society to live together peacefully, doing their part, based on skill and competence. I have managed small business in good and bad times. As a life coach, I have spent years studying and listening and understanding people and being able to help them feel heard and safe. Safe enough to then make decisions and act. My god-given strength, courage and fearlessness enables me to be a woman of discernment and action. As a mother and wife, I know the value of teaching to build character and raise strong leaders.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

My desire to serve the people of Wayne and Westland comes from a heart of wanting people to live peacefully, prosperously and civilly. We may not always agree, however, it is important to slow down and listen and then make the needed decisions and action. I believe small and medium-sized businesses are at the core of our economy. I also believe that we need to pay attention to both our mental and physical wellness and how they relate to our health, our families, our businesses and our interaction with others. Families must be supported in ways to help them thrive, from the point where they are at right now. I believe in small government which allows people to manage and care for those around them--I believe people want opportunities and not be forced or coerced. I support maintaining our freedoms, not allow certain entities to take them away.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

No Answer

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No Answer

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support laws which prevent criminals and people with certain mental illnesses from having access to gun. I would like to see improved access to mental health programs. I also believe law-abiding citizens should not have their constitutional rights unduly infringed upon.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

First, I do not believe all our problems can be solved by legislation or laws. I support greater opportunities for small business (for profit and non-profit) to be started, be able to compete, and given support to reach sustainability. I also will work to get all businesses back open and get people back to work. I support changes in mental health services to make it a preventative service, as well as other ways to remove stigma and encourage people to value the health of their minds and brain at earlier ages. I want to see greater education for the value and relationship of caring for mental and physical health, especially in disease prevention and recovery. I support legislation to prevent executive overreach.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I support constitutional rights equal protection under the law. I support laws that provide for civil liberties for all citizens.
