It means simply what the 1st Amendment says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;" No law should favor one religion over another, nor should a law prohibit the practice of religion.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I think we could open the private insurance market more by allowing insurers to cross state lines. We should encourage Doctors who are entrepreneurial to start more direct primary care practices. We would likely have to eliminate some restrictions and regulations to allow this to happen on a more wide scale.

I am a conservative Christian. I believe the Bible is the Word of God and is the ultimate authority for all matters of faith and practice. I believe the only way to God is through Jesus Christ and his death on the cross which paid the penalty for the sins of all mankind. It is only through our trust in Christ that can we receive salvation and be born again to new life. I believe God has called Christians to love people, renounce sin, stand for truth, and influence our society and culture with biblical values. I believe the traditional family structure, as defined in the Bible, is vital to the strength of our nation and society. That does not mean we should ostracize those who disagree with the biblical definition of family or deem less important those who, by choice or by circumstance, are not part of a traditional family.

I have 10 years of Marine Corps service. I worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for more than 20 years. I also have many years of restaurant management in my background. In every position I have ever held, I have been in a place of leadership within a short time. I worked in Jefferson City at the Capitol as a legislative assistant in 2014, so I have a basic knowledge of the workings of filing and passing legislation. I know people. I know how to work with those with whom I disagree to get the job done. I have the strength of character and conviction to stand up for what is right and fight against what is wrong. I am also an accomplished public speaker, having twice been a semi-finalist at the World Championship of Public Speaking. So I know how to put words together in a coherent and persuasive way.

I will strive to always be available to constituents in my home district first and to Missouri citizens statewide. I will always listen to other points of view. I will look at each piece of legislation with the following criteria in mind. Is it necessary? Will it work in the way it is intended to work? If it works, will it have unintended consequences down the road?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The only folks in our society who should be restricted from owning guns are violent felons and those who have clearly demonstrated to be at risk of self-harm or harm to others. Great care must be taken in the area of the latter restriction as it could be abused by authorities. But if someone is definitively diagnosed with a serious mental illness, then I could see restricting their right to own a gun.

I would introduce legislation to reduce regulations passed down from the state board of education and imposed on every local school district. I believe school districts should have more local control over their curriculum and most of their practices. I would introduce legislation to see abortion eliminated within the state of Missouri.

I think it is but not because of racism in general. It is a threat based on how we have tried to define it and eliminate it. No one should be looked down upon or discriminated against because of the color of their skin. No one should be arrested or harmed just because of the color of their skin. But in much of our attempt to combat institutional racism, we have created additional racism. Hate crimes have become popular. Meaning that if opposing races kill one another, there could be stiffer penalties imposed because it was race-related. This in itself is a form of racism. And it tends to elevate racial hatred rather than eliminate it.
