QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
If the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, North Carolina should repeal its law allowing abortion up to 20 weeks of pregnancy.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
When the life of the mother is jeopardized.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Neutral
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
This is a phrase taken from a letter written from Thomas Jefferson to the Baptist congregation from Danbury, CT. Taking everything I know about this specific concern of the congregation and Jefferson's general feelings toward government-supported religion in Virginia, I interpret this phrase to mean that, as President of the United States, he would work to restrain the federal government from frustrating religious liberty. I do not interpret this phrase to mean that he also felt that religious expression should be restrained from the public square. As a frequent visitor to Williamsburg, VA and William & Mary U where Jefferson attended, I believe that Jefferson was much more supportive of the religious expression than was many of his peers.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
+ Association Healthcare Plans on a national level to maximize best-pricing and to offer options other than employer-sponsored plans. + Price transparency - no surprise billings. Cash prices of office visits must be displayed. Providers must know and provide to their patients the cash price of all diagnostic tests that they prescribe before they order the diagnostic or the prescription drug.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State, sheriff and local law enforcement agencies should be required to participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) 287(g) Program to enhance the safety and security of their communities to identify and detain aliens.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who demonstrably share our judeo-christian values. We should take in as many of them as possible, consistent with our ability to handle the costs of resettlement. This would help to solidify our American motto: "E pluribus Unim". I would rather take in a hardworking, poorly educated, low-skilled laborer who demonstrates strong values rather than a highly-skilled, highly educated person who does not share our values. I am opposed to family-based and merit-based immigration regimes. I support values-based immigration. Virtues enhancement and values cohesiveness, rather than chain migration or economic prowess, needs to be the prime objectives of our immigration strategy. If we prioritize values, we will achieve family and economic prowess as tertiary outcomes.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Neutral
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
Parents should have the right to know what schools are teaching their children about sex and LGBT issues and should have the right to opt their children out of any instruction to which they object.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Spiritually, I am a Christian. Religiously, I practice Catholicism. I believe strongly that judeo-christian values are the best way to achieve lasting: + cultural harmony and unity + superior educational systems + compassionate healthcare system + growing economy where owners, laborers, and consumers all benefit equally + sustainable husbanding of our environment and natural resources + peace with other countries and peoples. We have seen the failures of atheistic and non-judeo-christian societies through the stories of our immigrants who left those societies. We have seen the failure of socialism and communism. We have seen the failures of hyper-nationalism and hyper-globalism. We need patriotism. We need to international alliances based shared values rather than economic benefit to the wealthy among us. Christendom renaissance is what I would like legislate in NC!
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I've written a couple of Op-Eds that were published in local newspapers: 1. I wrote in opposition to my town's inclusion of an abortion rider in its health insurance plan. 2. I wrote an opinion piece in support of NC Marriage Amendment I can share both if requested.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a small business owner. I know the challenge of always being the last one to get paid. I know what it is like to go without pay and without health insurance for extended periods. I know the challenge of filing confusing tax returns. I am a foster parent and know how difficult it is to fight the government court for the right of my foster-child to be reunited with her siblings.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
No.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
+ I would be okay with raising the weapons' purchase age to 21 provided that 21 also becomes the minimum age to vote; to purchase abortifacients and to procure abortions without parental consent. + All gun ownership transfers and sales need to be registered so that the new owner can be checked for any flags that would bar the right to own a weapon.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. Overturn NC’s statute 14-277.2 because it restricts the citizens' 2nd Amendment right to armed self-defense at events where armed self-defense capacity is warranted. 2. Opportunity scholarships for non-public education. Full tuition reimbursement for parents living in school districts where the local public school is rated as failing. 3. Abolish the state's income tax regime in favor of a sales tax regime. 4. Co-sponsor NC's Association Healthcare Plan bill.
