It’s not the governments place to redistribute wealth, and the government has no money other than what it takes from its citizens. America has been known throughout history to provide opportunities for individuals to dream big and work hard to reach their goals. There is much to be said and gained in the dignity of work to reach your dreams and goals.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Abolish the IRS. Then I would favor a “National Sales Tax” to impact everyone who buys goods and services. Including those who work under the table in the “Cash Only” society or Illegal Aliens, and drug dealers. All individuals spend according to their net disposable income, low wage earners spend less while high wage earners will spend more. However, we all would participate, and you’d get a full paycheck instead of being taxed with all different rates.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Not all students will not attend college. We have ignored the need for plumbers, carpenters, HVAC technicians, electricians, and automobile mechanics and others. Those should have the same access to funding as academic college students if taxpayer-funded education benefits are used. Students should be responsible for their college debt. Instead of living above their means during college, they should work while attending.

Under "NO" circumstances should the government or any judicial branch at any level close churches.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The First Amendment provides two options concerning religion: the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause. the Establishment Clause prohibits the government from “establishing” a religion. The Free Exercise Clause protects the citizens’ right to practice their religion as they please with limited exceptions.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. There is much debate on whether to require additional vaccinations in addition to those presently required. And there is much debate about those presently required as to the link to other health problems and conditions to children. The Covid-19 vaccinations and the fiasco that inflicted undue pain and suffering on our nation has left most of the country not trusting the government healthcare leaders.
EDUCATION

Yes. Who knows better than Parents concerning their child/children’s education? In many failing government schools Parents should have all information available to identify other opportunities to assist them in getting the best education for their child/children.
In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?
None. Parents are responsible for raising their children, this includes being aware of the content and knowing what curriculum is being taught. Taxpayers are paying for school operation, and they should have a say in that process. The education process has in many areas been hijacked and social engineering information is being taught instead critical thinking skills. Government dependency is being pushed so future generations will only depend on the government instead of making their own way in life and having personal responsibility.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Never, in most cases. However, being threatening or speaking in a way that prevents discussion, or the sharing of their concerns, or inflaming others attending is not productive.

Spiritual Beliefs- Romans 3:23, KJV, for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. John 3:16, KJV, 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Values- We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—-That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.

In 2012 the citizens of North Carolina overwhelmingly passed a Constitutional Amendment requiring one of many forms of ID in order to vote. It's almost impossible to conduct any business, travel and in some cases buy or sell without having some form of ID. Voter ID must be the most protected duty by its citizens to maintain the integrity of those voting.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
Enforce the laws already on the books and the Constitutional Amendments passed by the citizens of North Carolina. As a current Representative in the NC House, I voted for several bills pertaining to Voter integrity, which passed. However, the NC Governor Vetoed them.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, America is being divided by some of our political leaders which has led to unrest and destruction in America. Teaching Critical Race Theory only expands the racial divide in there being only two classes of people: the oppressed and the oppressors. America and North Carolina had made great strides in respecting and appreciating cultures as we live work and play together until the last ten years or so.

A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. However, there must be considerations in the cost and return on the investment that will impact our environment. Prior to January 2021 our country was energy independent, however, now we are not and we're buying oil form our enemies and shutting down our own production while Russia continues to sell the USA oil, killing jobs and raising gas prices that affect North Carolinians.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?
In the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution, they are: 1) to form a more perfect union; 2) establish justice; 3) ensure domestic tranquility; 4) provide for the common defense; 5) promote the general welfare; and 6) secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. This should also apply to state and local government.

There are extremes on either end of the spectrum. However, when watching a Grandfather Clock’s pendulum, it doesn’t hit either side of the clock case. It has to have balance to function properly, and it swings on either side of the middle. The same is true for society, most people live near the middle based on previous elections results nationally and down to the local offices. I have conservative values that I will not give up, however, working together is critical.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I do my homework, review the information, and form my decision. If new or additional information becomes evident, I have the courage to step back and review my stance on a particular subject and may change my view. I am a man of my word and stand by my commitment. I really care about the citizens I represent and only want the best for them. I have the courage to pick a side instead of riding the fence.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
