OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The endangerment of the mother’s life based on discussion and input with her doctor.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I will support our conservative caucuses in the Texas Legislature as they continue to deliver balanced budgets are required by the State’s Constitution. The Texas Legislative budgeting in essences process comes down to how best spend taxpayer resources. As a fiscal conservative and entrepreneur as a legislator I will prioritize and fund core functions of government based our needs and not our wants.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

“Separation of church and state” is not mentioned in the first amendment or the Constitution. What it means to me is that the government cannot interfere with our rights to freely worship.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The free market is always the best way to create affordable and accessible care. Government funded healthcare creates multiple layers of bureaucracy that actually limit your options and quality of service. As a small business owner ObamaCare significantly increased the cost of our health insurance to the point that our insurance company dropped their health care plan. Government involvement in the private sector does not make things more affordable.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Legal immigration into the US should be continued; those who follow and respect our immigration laws and processes should be allowed in. Illegal immigration must be stopped. The border must be secure, and I support continued state funding to ensure we do so.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Promotion of the LGBT agenda in public schools, including teaching of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”, is completely inappropriate and should be opposed at the state and local level.

Agree

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As a born-again Christian my faith is based on trust in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. My values come from my practice of the Christian Faith and Biblical Values. My faith journey began at the age of 8 when I accepted Christ and has continued throughout my life time. I have been actively involved at Bent Tree Bible Fellowship for over 23 years where my husband I have served in many different capacities. Our ministry work includes leading overseas missions trips for both adults and youth, serving as life group leaders, as a Sunday school teacher, and working in hospitality and women’s ministry, Bible study leader, Good News Club Leader, Mentor, and VBS Teacher.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have long been active in the Republican Party as a Precinct Chair, Party Officer, volunteer, and donor. I have helped start a voter registration drive at my church to engage and activate believers in the political process. As a conservative who believes that solutions come from citizens, not government, I have volunteered countless hours in organizations to improve my community such as Gospel Union Women’s and Children’s Homeless Shelter, Children’s Advocacy Center, Metrocrest Services, Christian Community Action, and more. As a conservative who understands that it is the private sector that creates jobs, my husband and I have built a small business that now employs over 60 people here in our community.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

My experience includes serving my second term as an elected Lewisville ISD School Board Trustee including the role as Vice-President, Republican Precinct Chair, Small Business Owner, Political Affairs Chair for Denton County GOP, Denton County Republican Executive Community Member, President and Founding Member, Republican Women of Dallas, Collin and Denton Counties, and Community Advocate for several non-profits.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Years in and years out, the issues facing our state may change, but how I will approach those issues won’t. Those who have worked with me know that I am a good listener. I believe as a leader it is my duty to have an open door and engage with our community in a meaningful way. I will always operate with the utmost integrity and model servant leadership. As a Christian, my faith in God and reflecting Him in all my ways is my highest priority.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety? I’m a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, and the recent incident at the Tarrant County church underscores why we must protect, not restrict, the rights of citizens to defend themselves. Public safety at the West Freeway Church of Christ was best ensured, and a potential slaughter was averted, because of recent laws that expanded second amendment freedoms.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

- Work on continuing to secure our borders to stop the inflow of drugs and children/young adults being trafficked for sex directly into Texas. T - HB3 and continuing the work for public education that was passed in the last legislative session. There are areas within HB3 that need to be addressed to work out unintended consequences. - Identifying areas where we can reduce the regulatory on Texas business owners in order to continue to have a strong workforce and economy.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I am a strong supporter of law enforcement and have great faith in our law enforcement agencies to determine what constitutes threats. As a Christian, I believe that we are all created in the image of God and that racism is sinful and harmful.
