QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

The human organism begins at fertilization with unique DNA. It develops continuously—no non-arbitrary point grants “personhood.” From conception, it holds full right to life. Elective abortion is unjustified killing a human. Pregnancy, even unintended or from rape, does not override this basic right to life. If pregnancy threatens the mother’s life, doctors may save her even if the unborn child dies. Every effort should be made to save both.

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Agree

Human embryos created artificially (e.g., IVF) are full human organisms with unique DNA and deserve protection from purposeful destruction. Others have a right not to be forced to fund extraordinary means; sustenance can rely on voluntary funding. This does not justify actively killing the embryos. We protect dependent born humans (e.g., in NICUs) through voluntary or private support. Dependency alone does not forfeit the right to life.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage laws price low-skilled workers out of jobs by acting as price controls. They hurt young, inexperienced, and disadvantaged people by limiting entry-level jobs and training. Wages should reflect voluntary agreements and productivity.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Audits & sunsets: Independent audits of major programs (esp. Medicaid) with automatic expiration for failures. Bureaucracy reduction: Consolidate agencies, full digitization, zero-based budgeting, cut admin bloat. Procurement & fraud: Tighten contracts, spending oversight, and improper payment recovery. End earmarks: Eliminate non-essential special-interest projects.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government should not establish or require any specific religion, nor coerce belief. Instead, it should protect religious liberty, allow free expression of faith in public life, and encourage voluntary religious pursuits without fear of reprisal. This supports faith-informed governance, religious values in society, and historical education about the Bible, while avoiding official state religion.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Individuals and businesses should not be forced to provide services that violate their deeply held moral or religious beliefs. This is compelled speech and labor, violating freedom of conscience, religion, and association. The state has no right to turn citizens into tools for others’ demands. True tolerance protects dissenters on all sides i.e. bakers, photographers, counselors. Coercion breeds resentment, lawsuits, and lost liberty, not harmony. Voluntary exchange respects everyone’s dignity.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. Medicaid and Medicare address key needs for the elderly, disabled, and poor. However, other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary for core government functions like national defense, infrastructure, public safety, and basic education. Blanket elimination ignores legitimate public goods. Prioritize reforms, audits, and efficiency over total cuts.

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

The government should not keep a database of citizens’ medical illnesses to assess economic burdens. This creates a surveillance state, violating privacy and liberty. It risks rationing, discrimination, and devaluing lives by cost, echoing dangerous precedents. Protect privacy; use voluntary markets and research instead.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The Chinese Communist Party does pose serious threats. Militarily, it rapidly modernizes its forces and threatens Taiwan. In cybersecurity, it conducts massive state-sponsored hacks and espionage. It systematically steals intellectual property, costing the U.S. hundreds of billions annually. Economically, it uses subsidies, debt-traps, and unfair trade to undermine American industry. Decisive action (decoupling critical supply chains, strengthening alliances, and robust) deterrence is essential.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Israel is America’s closest Middle East ally and only stable democracy there. Key benefits: vital intelligence sharing against terrorism, joint military tech development (Iron Dome, missiles), countering Iran/China/Russia influence, and strong economic innovation ties. Shared values and strategic location enhance U.S. security and regional stability. On an historical note, protecting Israel provides opportunities to enhance archeological evidence of the historicity of the Bible.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

Sanctuary cities should not exist. They deliberately obstruct federal immigration law, shielding undocumented criminals from deportation and endangering American communities. Multiple studies and cases show higher recidivism among shielded offenders. This erodes rule of law, rewards illegal entry, burdens local taxpayers, and strains police resources. Cities must cooperate with ICE to prioritize public safety over political signaling.

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

I strongly support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education. Education is not a federal responsibility under the Constitution. Since its creation in 1979, spending has exploded while student outcomes stagnated or declined. Returning control to states and communities would foster innovation, competition, parental choice, and accountability. Local control better matches diverse needs, reduces bureaucracy, and prioritizes teaching over federal mandates and special interests.

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Agree

Foreign governments should be prohibited from directly funding American education. While cultural exchange has value, state funding—especially from adversarial nations like China—risks propaganda, self-censorship, and influence over curricula and research. Confucius Institutes demonstrated this threat. Private donations should require full transparency and vetting, but taxpayer-funded foreign influence undermines academic independence and U.S. sovereignty.

VALUES

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree. Parents have the fundamental natural right and primary duty to direct their child’s health and education. They know their children best and bear the responsibility for their well-being. Government should support this through school choice, transparency, and parental consent requirements instead of overriding it with mandates, secrecy, or ideological agendas. Strong families produce better outcomes than distant bureaucracy.

Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.

Strongly Agree

Minors lack the maturity for irreversible decisions involving hormones, surgery, or social reinforcement that can cause sterility, bone loss, sexual dysfunction, and lifelong regret. Biology is not bigotry. We must protect children with therapy addressing underlying issues, not affirm confusion. Desistance (meaning the natural resolution or cessation of a condition or behavior over time, without intervention) is common when puberty proceeds naturally. Parents & Drs. shouldn't experiment on kids

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred union of one man and one woman, rooted in biology, complementarity, and Scripture. It forms the foundation of stable families and society. No government has authority to redefine this natural institution. Civil governments can regulate legal benefits, but they cannot alter the essential definition created by God and human nature. Attempts to do so undermine truth, children’s rights, and religious liberty.

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Neutral

I have mixed views on expanding gambling in Missouri. It can generate tax revenue and jobs, but often produces addiction, crime, and family harm that outweigh benefits. Government is poor at picking winners and losers through licensing and is ineffective at controlling or eliminating gambling’s downsides. That being said, expansion should be limited, with strict regulation, strong addiction prevention, transparent revenue use, and local veto power. Revenue isn’t worth the societal costs.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a committed Christian with a deep evangelical faith. I’m a Bible college graduate who leads a weekly "Bible in a Year" study for legislators and others, emphasizing reading the full Bible as a foundational guide for life and governance. I am guided by Faith in the God of creation, His Son my Savior Jesus Christ, and His indwelling Holy Spirit. My core values: Freedom, Faith, Family, Security, strongly supports religious liberty, views rights as God-given, and integrates biblical principles into public service and family life. My wife and I homeschooled our children. I believe everyone has faith, and expresses their faith through their life, actions, and service. The only difference is the object of their faith.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

People should not be allowed to vote without photo identification. Secure elections require verifiable identity to prevent fraud, impersonation, and double voting. Photo ID is a minimal, common-sense standard which is already required for driving, flying, banking, and buying alcohol. Free IDs are widely available. Evidence of significant disenfranchisement is weak, while public support for voter ID remains overwhelming. Without it, confidence in democracy collapses.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations based on race should be rejected. They are unjust, dividing Americans by skin color and punishing people today for sins of the distant past, none of whom were slaves or slave owners. Determining eligibility is impossible (i.e. ancestry, mixed heritage, recent immigrants). It fosters resentment, victimhood, and endless grievance. True justice is color-blind: equal individual rights, economic opportunity, strong families, and school choice over government coerced racial redistribution.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Biological males should not compete in women’s sports or access female-only spaces. Sex is binary and immutable. Males retain significant physical advantages in strength, speed, and skeletal structure even after hormones—destroying fair competition and women’s records/opportunities. In bathrooms, locker rooms, shelters, sororities, and prisons, this endangers women’s safety, privacy, and dignity. Biological reality must take precedence over feelings. Women deserve protected spaces.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

Man-made climate change is not an existential global threat requiring urgent political action. Climate has varied naturally for millennia. While CO2 contributes modest warming, catastrophe predictions have consistently failed—models run hot, extreme weather trends are not clearly worsening, and greening from CO2 is measurable. Costly net-zero policies cause energy poverty, hurt the poor most, and deliver negligible temperature benefit. Adaptation, innovation, and prosperity are far wiser.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear power is the most reliable for growing electricity demand. It runs at ~93% capacity factor with steady 24/7 baseload power—outperforming intermittent renewables and natural gas, with minimal emissions.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

I identify as conservative because I believe in limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility. Economically, I support free markets and low taxes over central planning. Socially, I defend traditional values, life, and parental rights. On foreign policy, I favor strong national defense and America-first realism. I strongly support religious liberty as a foundational right. Conservatism best preserves freedom, opportunity, and ordered liberty.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

Goal = Public safety through justice. It Must: Protect law-abiding citizens by incapacitating dangerous offenders. Deter crime via swift, certain, and proportionate punishment. Hold individuals accountable for their actions. Provide due process and fair trials. Offer rehabilitation for those who can be safely reintegrated. Secondary goals like rehabilitation or restoration matter, but only when they do not compromise safety or justice. The system exists first to preserve ordered liberty.

Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.

Agree

I support the statement: Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation online through targeted laws, enforcement against predators, and platform accountability (e.g., age verification and content moderation). However, parents bear the primary duty to supervise, educate, and set boundaries for their children’s digital lives. Government should empower parents—not replace them—with tools and transparency. Government does very little well.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Agree

I agree: Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form into the U.S. legal framework. American law is rooted in the Constitution, individual rights, and equality under the law—not religious codes that permit unequal treatment of women, apostasy punishments, or hudud penalties. Muslims retain full religious liberty to practice privately, but Sharia cannot override or parallel civil law. One legal system for all preserves liberty and justice.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Generally, I am against limits on gun ownership. That being said, it might make sense to have minimal restrictions: prohibit violent felons, domestic abusers, and adjudicated mentally ill from owning guns. Broad bans on rifles, magazines, or waiting periods show little evidence of reducing overall violence. Focus on enforcing laws against criminals, not disarming law-abiding citizens. Public safety improves through deterrence and targeting root causes.
