QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion may be considered when the life of the mother is at stake.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
All government spending should be studied and considered. We must balance our budget, and then begin to reduce our national debt. Current spending levels are not sustainable. At the State Level, we are required to balance our budget each year. But excess spending should be reigned in, as we continue working to assure efficient and cost-effective programs.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I believe our Founding Fathers intended that our nation not support or promote one particular church, nor require membership in such a church. It was their desire to guarantee "Freedom of Religion"....not freedom FROM religion.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Neutral
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Affordable healthcare is important, but I am troubled by the concept of socialized medicine. We need to take steps to assure that healthcare is and remains affordable. Then we should provide training and opportunities so that people can find jobs that pay a decent wage. That should allow families and individuals to procure affordable healthcare coverage.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
As a sovereign nation, we must maintain and enforce our borders. However, controlled numbers of potential immigrants should be allowed to go through the proper processes and channels in order to seek the opportunities and responsibilities provided by citizenship in our great nation. American citizenship is an extremely valuable gift. It should only be given out after great thought, consideration, and contemplation. Give us your tired, your poor, and your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. And, give us your best and your brightest. Together we can do great things.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, who believes in life, families, and the sanctity of marriage. I am a proud American, who appreciates the sacrifices that have been made in order to protect the many freedoms that we enjoy today.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have consistently voted in favor of life, family values and religious freedom, while voting to oppose higher tax burdens and increasing government over-reach.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have been a public servant and community leader for many years, and I appreciate the opportunity to serve others. I enjoy helping my community, as we seek to improve the lives of our friends and neighbors. I have a Master's Degree in Public Administration, so I understand how government works...and how to fix it when it doesn't. I have undergrad degrees in Environmental Science, Toxicology, and Chemistry - a science foundation which is very helpful when looking at situations and scenarios in our complicated world today. As a conservative I seek to find reasonable and sustainable solutions to the problems and challenges we face.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a common-sense conservative, who seeks each day to work for the betterment of our communities and our state. I care about you and your family. I would welcome the opportunity to serve another term in our Minnesota State Legislature. Thank you for your consideration. God Bless.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
No Answer
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Our 2nd Amendment rights are very important, and they must be preserved. Certainly loop-holes in background check requirements can be identified, investigated, and addressed. But existing options for mental health checks should be maintained, including the 72-hour hold.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Neutral
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Life, Religious Freedom, School Choice, and Parental Rights are very important. I will also support reasonable efforts to improve the lives of citizens, and reduce the tax burdens created by excess spending and program inefficiencies. I will continue to oppose efforts to pass controversial mandatory comprehensive sex education that would be provided to all children in public schools...as young as Kindergarten and Pre-K.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is still a problem that we continue to work on. While we have made great strides forward as a nation, efforts should continue to further the great progress we have made. All men (all people) are created equal, and they should be provided with the same protections and opportunities, while also being expected to adhere to laws and rules that seek to guarantee a smooth and lawful society. It is our duty as Americans to live and work together, and treat each other with respect.
