QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Honestly, no abortions should be allowed. As a Christian, I cannot in good faith make any argument for continuing to allow abortions in any situation. That said, if those on the left were willing to actually negotiate on this issue, it would be a big step in the right direction to see a bill outlawing abortion in all cases other than those involving rape, incest, or the life of the mother or child. By numbers I have researched, such a bill would outlaw over 97% of all abortions (meaning over 97% of abortions currently are based on choice, or so-called "convenience abortions"). But since this is an all-or-nothing issue, abortions should not be allowed.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Strongly Agree
Socialism provides a robust foundation for a stable economy.
Strongly Disagree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
In my opinion, the best way to bring down unemployment is to put forth policies that support economic growth and small business development. This is accomplished best by removing burdensome regulations and government restrictions that prevent individuals from working or from opening a trade or business. Government bureaucracies and departments that require hefty dues and/or require licensing greatly limit individuals from pursuing their best opportunities. In addition, I believe work-requirements are a good idea for those seeking government support and benefits. Government benefits should not be an entitlement and should instead be used only to help someone through a tough time. Many people do not realize that "unemployment benefits" are a relatively new thing - and just a few generations ago, there was no such thing as being "unemployed." You either had a job provided by some employer, or you found some other way to make a living. We could benefit from moving back to that mindset.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government should do what it can to help grow the economy. This should be acomplished by making sure a fair opportunity exists for all to work and develop commerce and industry. The government should also eliminate burdensome restrictions and regulations on commerce and industry. That said, the government should not be in the business of picking winners and losers economically by subsidizing certain products or services. Instead, the government should make sure market opportunities are readily available and accessible. The success or failure of businesses should then rely on market reaction - where good products and services succeed while others may fail. This promotes the "American Dream."
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or business owners because of their deeply held religious beliefs.
Strongly Agree
Governments should not penalize those who define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The cost of healthcare skyrocketed when the government became involved. Based on this observation, it seems clear to me that the answer to obtaining adequate, affordable and accessible healthcare for all does not include MORE government involvement - but less government involvement. If we allowed for insurance providers to cross state lines (rather than state governments restricting them from doing so), we could open up more affordable health insurance options. We also should encourage "before tax" health savings opportunities to individuals that want to save their own money to use for health and wellness. Eliminating bureaucratic red-tape that limits competition among local healthcare providers would also be helpful.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
I support sanctuary cities.
Strongly Disagree
Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Biblical values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.
Strongly Disagree
People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."
Strongly Disagree
Free speech is under attack on public university and college campuses.
Strongly Agree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our Founders understood that our rights are not given to us by the government; instead, they are bestowed upon us by our Maker. That being the case, the Founders made every effort to ensure that our rights could not be infringed upon by the government, and rather should be protected by the government. Furthermore, our Founders understood man's nature to act in his own self-interest, and it is important that our representatives be checked from using government powers in their own self-interest.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian, which means that I believe as follows: God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, born to a virgin, to live on Earth as a man; that Jesus lived a perfect life free of sin; that Jesus Christ was sacrificed to pay for my sins; and that He rose from the dead to defeat sin and death for me so that I may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven at the end of this life. I also have and understand a fear of God, which means that I know all that I have and all I will be given has come from God - and that he can take away as easily as He can give. My wife and I believe these things with all of our heart, and we are teaching our kids these same beliefs. These spiritual beliefs and values are of utmost importance to me. They are my foundation, and they are my guide that I know will keep me focused on what is important. My beliefs and values will make me a better public servant and representative for my District.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
This is my first election, which undoubtedly limits publicly available information. However, I have publicly endorsed and supported conservative candidates for President, US Senate, US Congress, and in statewide and local elections in Mississippi. I have voiced my conservative views on social media as well as in letters to the editor of the local newspaper. Also, my campaign materials and website outlining my positions on issues are publicly available - and my conservative values will be apparent in the positions I have taken.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
A State Senator that is able to debate, argue, persuade and communicate will be one that can most effectively represent his constituents. I have these traits, and I am the most qualified candidate for this office. As an attorney, I am trained and have experience in reading and understanding legislation and laws, and I am able to pick up on the meaning and purpose of specific words and phrases. This is VERY important for a legislator for obvious reasons. I also have experience from both practicing law and in leading various groups and organizations with speaking before large groups. In particular, I have experience making arguments for those I represent, and I have experience with speaking in a way that can persuade.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a lifelong resident of Jackson County, Mississippi - and I know and love this community. I am a Christian, and I am a conservative Republican. I am also a family man. I promise that I will be loyal and faithful to conservative principles and strong family values - and I am very much aware of the dangers to our principles and values. I will be a fighter, and I will be an honest public servant that listens to and remembers my constituents, my community and my state while serving as State Senator. I will be a representative that my constituents will be proud of.
