I personally believe abortion is a terrible thing, but I also believe it’s an intensely personal decision. I don’t think the government should make that decision for a woman. Ultimately, the choice should be hers.

I view a human embryo as potential human life, not a natural-born person with the same legal status and rights as someone who has been born. I believe that distinction matters when deciding what protections the law should provide.

I believe an elective abortion should remain a personal choice for the pregnant woman, made according to her own circumstances, conscience, and medical advice. I may personally find abortion deeply troubling, but I do not believe government should make that deeply personal decision for her.

From my perspective, people who have a deeply held moral objection to abortion should not be forced through their taxes to pay for someone else’s abortion. A woman should have the freedom to make that personal choice, but others should also have the freedom not to be compelled to fund it.

I believe economic freedom is an essential individual right. Every person has the right to own and control property, freely exchange with others, pursue economic opportunities, and enjoy the fruits of their own labor without unnecessary government interference.

I don’t believe a person’s ability to pay more gives government a greater claim to the fruits of that person’s labor. People who are fortunate enough to have greater means should instead be encouraged and incentivized to voluntarily support charities and community organizations that help working families and address social needs. Voluntary generosity respects individual rights while allowing resources to reach people in need without relying on compulsory taxation.

I strongly believe the federal government must bring spending under control and reduce the national debt. Government should live within its means, prioritize essential responsibilities, eliminate wasteful and unnecessary spending, and stop passing today’s bills on to future generations.

My priorities are to end corporate welfare and special-interest subsidies; eliminate duplicative, obsolete, and ineffective programs; reform federal contracting to increase competition, transparency, and accountability; reduce unnecessary federal bureaucracy; require measurable results for taxpayer-funded programs; and return responsibilities to individuals, communities, states, and the private sector whenever the federal government is unnecessary.

I believe the Founders were right to protect freedom of speech, religion, and conscience in the First Amendment. Keeping government from establishing or controlling religion has helped keep this country strong. Individuals and private businesses should not be compelled by government to provide services that violate their sincerely held moral or religious beliefs.

To me, separation of church and state means government should neither establish nor favor a religion, nor interfere with an individual’s right to practice—or not practice—religion. The First Amendment protects both religious liberty and freedom from government-imposed religion. Government should protect those individual rights while remaining neutral on matters of faith.

C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. It preserves the existing safety net for seniors and lower-income Americans while rejecting expansion into universal taxpayer-funded healthcare or a government insurance option.

I disagree. An individual’s medical information is private, and government should not maintain databases identifying people by their illnesses merely to assess economic costs. Healthcare policy can be evaluated using anonymous, aggregated data without sacrificing individual privacy.

C) The United States has become too involved in other countries’ affairs and should focus on protecting our own sovereignty unless America faces an imminent threat. That leaves room for legitimate national defense without making the United States either the world’s policeman (A/B) or committed to absolute isolation regardless of circumstances (D).

I disagree. I do not view China as an inherent threat simply because it is governed by the Communist Party. China’s increasing reliance on private enterprise and market competition demonstrates something important: even its leaders recognize that free enterprise works. I favor engagement and peaceful trade rather than treating China as an inevitable enemy.

I am deeply troubled by the suffering in Gaza and by the serious accusations that Israel’s conduct may amount to genocide. Allegations of that magnitude should be investigated impartially and judged on evidence and international law, not political allegiance. I believe the United States should support the protection of innocent civilians, the release of hostages, and a lasting peace that respects the rights and security of both Israelis and Palestinians.

I believe terrorism is a threat to our national security regardless of the ideology used to justify it. We should aggressively defend Americans against those who advocate or commit violence, while recognizing that Islam itself is a religion practiced peacefully by millions and that people should never be treated as threats simply because of their faith.

I believe peaceful people who want to live, work, study, build businesses, or join family in America should have a clear and reasonable legal path to do so. Immigration should be based on individual conduct, not nationality, religion, or ethnicity. Those who pose a genuine threat to public safety or national security may properly be excluded. Otherwise, government should make legal immigration simpler, faster, and more accessible.

I believe state and local governments should decide how their own law-enforcement resources are used. Local police should focus on protecting people from crime, not enforcing federal immigration law. Sanctuary policies can also encourage undocumented residents to report crimes and cooperate with police without fearing that every interaction will result in deportation.

I strongly support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and returning control of education to states, local communities, parents, and students. Education decisions are best made closer to the people they affect, not by a centralized federal bureaucracy. Federal involvement should not dictate how communities educate their children.

I oppose foreign governments controlling or influencing American education through undisclosed funding. However, I favor transparency over a blanket prohibition. Schools and universities should be free to accept legitimate international funding, provided the source and terms are fully disclosed and the funding does not give a foreign government control over curriculum, research, or academic freedom.

I disagree with labeling every attempt to help a child socially or medically transition as child abuse. These are deeply personal decisions involving children, parents, and healthcare providers, and government should be extremely cautious about substituting its judgment for theirs. Actual abuse should be addressed as abuse, but disagreement over gender identity or treatment should not automatically turn parents or caregivers into criminals.

I believe marriage is fundamentally a personal relationship, not something government or any particular religion should define for everyone. Individuals and religious organizations should be free to define marriage according to their own beliefs, while government should treat consenting adults equally under the law and neither impose nor prohibit a religious definition of marriage.

I believe deeply in individual conscience, personal responsibility, compassion, honesty, and treating others with dignity and respect. Spiritual belief is a personal matter, and I strongly support every individual’s freedom to worship according to their own beliefs—or not to worship at all.

I oppose requiring photo identification to vote. Election integrity is important, but photo ID is not the only way to verify eligibility. States can use voter registration records, signatures, identifying information, and other reliable methods to confirm that a person is eligible to vote without creating an unnecessary barrier to exercising a fundamental right.

I believe athletic competition should be based primarily on ability and demonstrated performance rather than sex or gender. Where practical, competitors should be grouped into appropriate skill or performance levels so that competition is fair and meaningful, while giving individuals the greatest possible opportunity to participate.

Protecting children from sexual exploitation is a legitimate function of government because exploitation violates the rights of the child. Enforcement should target actual exploitation and offenders while respecting the privacy, free-speech, and due-process rights of everyone else.

I believe the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right. Restrictions should focus narrowly on people who have demonstrated that they pose a serious threat to others, with strong due-process protections, rather than broadly restricting the rights of peaceful, law-abiding gun owners.
