13. People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Our founders recognized that mankind is inherently fallen and that if there were no limits placed on the powers of government, evil men would eventually consolidate power in themselves and impose despotism. Because of this, they set up a system where no man could gain all power, and the other parts of government would compete and check each others' powers. If we are going to be governed by sinners, our founders wanted to set up a system that limited their ability to sin.
15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
1) National Security- The first duty of government is to keep our citizens safe. This not only means having a powerful military capable of defending America from enemies abroad, but having secure borders to keep criminals and terrorists out of the United States as well. 2) Preserving the American Way of Life- Traditional American values have been under fire for decades. These traditional morals are the foundation of our democracy as well as our economic system. I will fight to preserve our way of life from those who seek to undermine our values. 3) Repealing Obamacare- The frontline battle to shrink government, protect personal (especially religious) freedom, and preserve our health care system is the fight to repeal and replace Obamacare with a system rooted in the free market, not the government.
16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
Abortion should only be allowed in cases of rape and incest (particularly involving minors) or to save the life of the mother.
17. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court, Industry, Academia, Media, Professional Sports
18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was baptized Christian and have been a practicing Christian for my entire life. One thing I learned in combat in Vietnam is that there are truly no atheists in the foxholes. I try to live my life in a way that honors and loves God, and follows His command to love our neighbor as ourselves.
