Specifically within the scope of the State Board of Education: (1) Report Fraud and Improper Payments to programs that do not improve student outcomes. (2) Eliminating Duplicative and Unnecessary Programs/Agencies that do not benefit the education of students in Texas. (3) improving training requirements for school boards and superintendents.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The government has no right or authority to require religious participation or to compel religious beliefs. However, this is a one way street. The GOVERNMENT should not participate in the religious realm. RELIGION should be active in the political sphere. Persons of faith ought to freely and actively participate in the government and political process with no restrictions or interference. The prohibition is against government intrusion into religious life, NOT religious activism in government.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Parent rights allow for the choice of private and homeschool. Neither of which are under the authority of the SBOE.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
Healthcare is outside the authority of the SBOE. However, I do believe that the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills should continue to support teaching students about healthy choices.
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
