Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
This is a much more complex question than most people allow... On the one had, I am a big supporter of personal freedom, and the right to chose for yourself what you do with yourself. But, we now have video of fetuses in the womb that obviously react to outside stimulus. We have people born in the second trimester (when abortion is legal) that are alive today! We have a real problem with the definitions of when life begins, and the rights of a dependent life over another. But the bigger question is why are we having an abortion debate at all? Today there is absolutely no mystery where babies come from! If we really want to stop abortion, we need to stop unwanted pregnancies! This may take education, or more responsibilities to people creating these children. Either way, I do believe addressing the source will be much more effective than attacking the symptom months later. Even the campaign the DeMoss Foundation ran years ago, "Life, What a Beautiful Choice" would be helpful

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
I really like what Mike Rowe is doing. He is helping people that want to work get training for jobs that are in demand. We have jobs, but we are training people for carriers where there are few jobs. A lot of this is based on well meaning, but badly implemented "government assistance." And now we have a generation of people with 6 figure debt and no jobs in their field! I think we need to go back to a respect for work, and not the color of the collar of the person doing it!
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
None. Every time the government has tried to boost the economy, the results have been catastrophic later. Mortgage assistance lead to the housing bubble, which crashed the banks. All government should do is be a smaller part of the economy (spend less) so that people have more of their money to give to charity, support their community, and grow themselves.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Twelve years ago I had fantastic insurance that covered everything I needed very well and was cheap! And as I was self employed, I carried the entire cost myself. Now, you can not get that kind of coverage at any price, and even the very bad coverage available is 10 times the cost I was paying. One of the best options right now is Health Sharing Ministries, which actually give some control back to the consumer. But, all of this took place for a very small number of people with chronic and deadly, preexisting conditions. For what we have spent as a government, and wasted in higher rates, we could have added the small number of people to Medicaid and spent far less! And if we went back to a simpler system, with less regulation, we could even lower the cost of care drastically like some pre-paid outpatient surgery centers have done.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

When you get large groups of people with power, the chances of one of them abusing that power get quite high. And it only takes one person abusing power to cause large problems for everyone. So the founders built a framework to limit that one person in many ways. And in general it works. Other than the places we have broken that intent...
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised Baptist, but my fiancée is Catholic. Generally I consider myself "Non specific Christian." That said, I also believe that government and spirituality should be separate. As an elected official, I will "Render onto Caesar what is Caesar's" and keep my religion between myself, my family and my God. I never want government picking the winers in a religious debate.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

I chose "moderate" as I think I am seen as conservative on many issues and liberal on others. For example, I support the old conservative viewpoints on smaller government, lower spending, and lower taxes. (A view that the Republicans seem to have lost) But I do not want the government making moral decisions. I believe moral guidance should come from a pastor, not a police officer. Yes, some people may make bad choices, and I believe that is their right. As long as they are not harming others, I believe the government has no authority to make those decisions for them. However, I also believe in the right of others to assist and support. The facts show that faith based addiction treatment is much more successful that purely state funded addiction treatment. So why should the government only fund the less effective treatment? I do not think fitting everything neatly into one box is the best way to fix anything.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
All of the experience I have had with politicians so far, is them ignoring my needs, going against my wishes, taking more of my money, restricting more of my freedom, and paying off their contributors at my expense. A better question is which one of those experiences would you be proud of?

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am a Libertarian. That means that which ever major party you are in, I am not in that evil other party! And this has become the point in politics today. We are no longer voting "for" any one but "against" the other guy. And we end up choosing between people we would not leave alone in our house! We have reached a point where party loyalty is more important that voting our own conscience. I am not a politician, and I am proud of that. I am not running because I want the job; I am running because I want the job done well! If you feel the same way, vote for me, or one of the other Libertarians running. Or better yet, consider running yourself in 2 years! We need to start sending more real people to the capitals, and start firing the life long politicians!
