QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I personally do not advocate abortion at all. To those that support abortion for cases of incest or rape, please know that less than 1% of all abortions fall into those 2 categories. And only 7% of abortions are for reasons that have a health problem for the infant or the mother. That leaves over 92% of abortions for reasons of convenience. All that being said, contraceptives, a tubal ligation, and a vasectomy need to be more readily available and not restricted.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Agree

It is a personal choice and the government does not have a say in it.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Eliminate all of it. My campaign motto : "End The Tax"

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would start with all that is not specifically allocated in the Constitution.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

Though K-12 is allocated in the Texas Constitution, Government should not be involved at all in education. Since Government got involved it has all gone down hill.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Persons and businesses can deal with the consequences of their decisions and choices. No one should be forced to accept anything. There are other businesses that will welcome you.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

D. Let the free market fend for itself and keep government out of healthcare. It is not their responsibility.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. Vaccines are a personal and medical decision to be made with a healthcare professional and the person. No one else has any say in the matter

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Bring our troops home from the over 100 US military bases overseas. The purpose of the military is a defense against invasion. Not to start wars, get involved in other countries conflict, etc.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Choose not to answer

What another country does is none of our business. We need to worry about ourselves.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Disagree

The immigration issue is at the level of bureaucracy. The time frame and cost to immigrate is long and expensive most foreigners.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone who does not wish to cause harm to others.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Disagree

it is not necessary for government. And we do NOT have a limited government. It grows everyday.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Did not answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

My personal beliefs are just that, personal. For the most part I try not to let that influence my politics. Though I know many people are interested in the matter. I associate as an Israelite (not to be confused with Israeli).

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Neutral

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Eliminate the multiple voting times here in Texas. Have all election done at once and not separate school, local, state, etc.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I do not believe so. Most of the racism promoted is through media. Not saying it doesn't exist but I think it is much less than most people think.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Choose not to answer

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To protect peoples rights, deter invasion,

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

None of the above. the political spectrum is not a line but a plane going in four directions. I am a Libertarian.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://www.elliscountypress.com/ecp-tv/ecp-tv-politics-and-how-it-affects-you-texas-house-district-10-candidate-matt-savino-february

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

If elected, I will do all I can to get all victimless crimes repealed. Remove pensions from all elected officials. Eliminate taxes as much as possible along with spending.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. An Armed populous can protect itself. All gun laws are a violation of the Constitution.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Firearms are not responsible. They can not do anything on their own. Only a person can hurt someone. Doesn't matter who made the item used to injure/kill someone whether it's a hammer, baseball bat, car, firearm, etc.
