Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None. Maybe life of the mother.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

No Answer

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

ABOUT YOU

I voted in these primaries and general elections:

2010 General Election, 2010 Republican Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 General Election, 2016 General Election

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a constitutional libertarian. I believe that government has a very limited role - to defend individuals from aggression - police, courts, and national defense. I believe that if we enforced the United States and Texas Constitutions, our state and the union would be much better off than today.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have worked in many Texas legislative sessions to see passage of legislation I support. In 2015 and 2017, I was at the legislature for more than half of the days in session. I have legal training, which helps me better understand how to craft legislation and how it will be interpreted by the courts. I have read economics, political philosophy, history, and the law all of my life. My heroes are those who fought for and protected liberty.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

The number one issue in this race is property tax. Voters have a choice between the incumbent who spends his time working to slow the rate of increase and me, who will spend time working to eliminate property tax and the arbitrary, wasteful, and maddening appraisal process. While we are working to eliminate property tax, we should appraise property on the purchase price, to eliminate the waste of the current process. I take my oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution very seriously. I believe Texas legislators have a duty to call out violations of the Constitution by the feds and to stop unconstitutional federal acts in Texas. I call this constitutional enforcement. With my group, Texas Constitutional Enforcement, I crafted the Texas Sovereignty Act. If elected, I would work toward passage of that act and would resist federal tyranny.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Agree

Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.

Neutral

People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."

Neutral

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

All individuals are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. To secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
