Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should only be allowed to save the life of the mother.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

As President Reagan put it, we must always be prepared so that we’ll always be free. Additionally, I believe that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ loosening of the “rules of engagement,” which has allowed our troops to more quickly and effectively combat and defeat ISIS and other terrorists groups in the Middle East and elsewhere, is wise and correct. Further, I support President Trump’s limited travel ban and ending the visa lottery program.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

We are endowed by our Creator with unalienable “natural” rights, among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Government derives from the consent of the governed, therefore the Constitution is an enumerated powers document, with limits, checks and balances.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian. I have given my life to the Lord.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Every time our country has created competition in a field we have received a better product and a lower cost. The (Un)Affordable Care Act has eliminated competition which has caused prices to skyrocket. We need to allow individuals to purchase insurance across state lines. We need to increase the availability and scope of Health Savings Accounts. We need to provide individuals different plans so they can choose what is best for their family. We need to create and fund high risk pools so that individuals with true preexisting conditions can receive coverage at a reasonable cost.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

On January 20, 1981 Ronald Reagan delivered his first Inaugural Address. In it he warned… “For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children’s future for the temporary convenience of the present. . . . We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow.” I believe the biggest role the government has in boosting the economy is to reduce our federal deficit. My views can pretty much be summed up in two guiding principles best expressed by Ronald Reagan… 1.) Government isn’t the solution to the problem; government IS the problem 2.) The American people aren’t taxed too little; the government spends too much

What changes should be made to the tax code?

In generality terms, we should eliminate all deductions and exemptions that favor one select group or business over the rest of the country. Our tax code is littered with special tax breaks for groups and businesses with influence over our legislators. A perfect example is the carried-interest loophole. The carried-interest loophole will cost taxpayers nearly $17 billion over a decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The loophole must be closed and hedge-fund managers must be required to pay their fair share of taxes. In March, the U.S. Treasury Department announced impending regulations to close the loophole for S-corporations. That is a step in the right direction.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Businesses must invest in the American people. Job creators (businesses, NOT government!) are incentivized to invest when the government gets out of the way. Decreased regulations, lower taxes, and a freer market allow businesses to put Americans to work.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The future of Social Security is dependent upon the workforce. We must have more people earning a paycheck, and that requires a market suitable for investment and the creation of jobs. In addition, for individuals in their early 40’s or younger the minimum age for collecting social security benefits must increase as the average life expectancy for Americans have increased. This increase must not affect individuals who are already close to retirement age.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a southern Nevada resident for over 40 years who has been a part of this community’s fabric and who has experienced the highs and lows this community has experienced, I will fight for legislation that best serves the hard working Nevadans who live in my district. My extensive public service in numerous nonprofits in southern Nevada, such as, Hope for Prisoners, Team Focus (Fatherless boys), Tarkanian Basketball Academy, Tark Toy Drive, will help me be a great public servant for this community in Washington D.C. My 23 years as a businessman facing the burdens of high taxation and unreasonable regulations has given me the experience to fight for those common sense conservative principles that have helped our country to become the world’s greatest economic force.
