QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

There is no ethical government. Abortion is an ethical issue. Government is tasked with enforcing what is commonly agreeable and should not be used to force the opinion of some onto others. Murder is already outlawed.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The tax rate should be brought to zero and reestablished every 10 years through public vote to control ever increasing taxes, borrowing, and higher property evaluations by taxing authorities. Counties should not be able to create significant debt without public approval, as they are currently able to do. The $180 million dollar Hidalgo County Courthouse is an excellent example of significant debt with little public support. Delinquent taxpayers should be afforded an opportunity to plead a defense with an independent arbitrator empowered to review taxes owed, extenuating circumstances, and to enforce an agreement with homeowners and the taxing authority.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would decrease public spending on institutions that already charge for their services. The reallocation of taxes should be used to create a reasonable environment for success for the community, but not to fund operations that are already being charged to the citizen. It is unacceptable for the State to fund higher education which buries a student in debt or any hospital which strips families of all their assets. Competition for dollars from the public or the private sector. Not both.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Neutral

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Disagree

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

There is a higher authority and there are no circumstances that government can close churches.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Medicaid should be available because there will always be a need from those who can't provide for themselves or their families. Life isn't fair to everyone. Medicaid doesn't pay the full cost typically charged by providers and doesn't cover everything, but it does help offset the actual costs of the healthcare provider. Medicare should remain for those who have paid into it.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

If a vaccine or treatment is widely understood and its short term and long term effects can be quantified with certainty, and if the vaccine or treatment have been shown through standard research methodology to be effective against a known and significant public health hazard that endangers society, then public vaccinations may be required.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

This is a loaded question with false assumptions. Terrorism is intimidation and violence for political gain. It is already illegal and should be prosecuted when practiced. If the Islamic idea is dangerous, it will fail on it own in the arena of ideas. If the Islamic idea is terrorism, it should be prosecuted. Its important to define ideas and not to rely on feelings or media pressure.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Disagree

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The borders should be closed to immigration until Congress can deliver an enforceable immigration policy.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Everything is connected. People have significant authority in how they connect.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Campaign donations should be severely limited from entities receiving taxpayer monies.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is mostly insignificant in the United States. Claims of widespread racism are mostly opportunistic efforts to profit or to accumulate political power. Political power is a threat to domestic security.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

We only need regulations when there is a readily identifiable problems to solve.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Neutral

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Government conserves the relationship among people to live as they choose. Government shouldn't command people how to live. The US Supreme Court does not agree and opines that government is charged with manipulating public behavior through our taxes

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

No Answer

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Did not answer

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Lawmakers routinely pass laws to reflect and codify common behaviors that already exist. If the behaviors already exist, then isn't the law generally unnecessary? I'm a serious proponent of sunsetting laws that become irrelevant. Laws should be routinely reviewed and renewed instead of blindly passed along to the next generation. In theory, judicial opinions are strangled by this principle called stare decisis wherein what was determine a hundred years ago is the excuse for what will be determined today. A good example is that over 175 years ago the Texas judiciary put the government on a pedestal giving public officials immunity to accountability. Today the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court complains that the lack of accountability is unfair and unjust but they can't just change their opinions because the courts depend on stare decisis. Legislators can change laws and cure government's flawed history and injustices, if they are competent and have the desire as I.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Disagree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun ownership is not a public safety hazard.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
