QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I do not believe in legalized abortion as a means of birth control. However, I do recognize a very limited exception to the general rule of the illegality of abortion: that being when the medical health and safety of the mother is concerned. I also believe that the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade, which carved out a broad exception to the states' right to decide the issue of the legality or illegality of abortion, possesses a self-contained long-term solution to the abortion debate. Much of the language in Roe v. Wade hinges on the viability of the unborn child to survive outside of utero. As we all know, Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. The viability question was very different in 1973 than it is now in 2020. With today's advancements in medicine, the viability of a unborn child occurs at a much earlier stage of gestation (in theory, at or almost, at conception).

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

First, the issue of Social Security benefits for anyone who has paid into the system (and for those who will do so in the future) and the federal fund for this purpose must literally be treated as, without exception, sacred. The federal government's current practice of "borrowing" or using these funds "as if" they were part of the general fund on interim bases is irresponsible, risky, and goes against the intended use of these monies to begin with. This practice must be stopped. Additionally, our federal government must be wiser in its use of budgeted money. The abuse of our foreign aid dollars must stop [ie, we must take a long hard look at what foreign aid is genuinely needed, necessary to protect vital American interests, and is actually being used for its intended purposes (as opposed to corruption in various forms)]. We must stop endless wars and their associated costs, such as the approximate $6 trillion we have spent in the middle east in recent years.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

First, this can be accomplished WITHOUT raising taxes. We must scrutinize and reduce the foreign aid that we provide; e.g., NATO's usefulness to the U.S. has long been exhausted. We should not be subsidizing Europe. The only legitimate aid to the countries of NATO is aid that is directly necessary to protect vital American interests. Otherwise, NATO and Europe should be left to govern themselves. We must ensure that aid we do give is used for its intended purposes (not corruption).

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

In general, only under very limited situations. The public is not entitled to a free college education. However, for certain job specialties and people who are willing to work in underserved communities, student loan relief may be appropriate. The real problem is that the education system has become a big business that encourages all students to attend college (instead of trade schools, etc.) and produces an outcome of 6-7 years to complete a 4-year program so the colleges can earn more money

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means literally the separation of the church or one form of church (such as the Roman Catholic Church in old Europe) becoming one and the same as a nation's government (like was the case in old Europe where the Catholic church was literally the government or was practically the government). It does NOT mean that there must be no mention of religion in any government setting. The U.S. was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, values, morals, and ethics. It is impossible to remove that foundation from our Constitution. A Republic does not work without a moral citizenry and is ungovernable if the people do not have an ethical sense. The federal government cannot intrude on a citizen's right to practice whatever religion one chooses as long as that religion does not harm others and is tolerant of all people with differing religious views.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Neutral

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

This is a very difficult problem to solve. Price transparency in health care services/costs is one place to start. The current system of charging different rates to different people depending on the method of their payment is outrageous and contrary to a functioning open market system. Further, increased promotion and incentivization of HSA plans will facilitate an actual open market system and allow the people to have the ability to function as real consumers in a real open market. The Medicaid system of disincentivizing people working and earning their own wages must be changed. The Medicaid system must reward people for obtaining jobs. We must ensure adequate care by not saddling our doctors and other medical professionals with unmanageable schooling debt, which will allow them to work in underserved areas. This also helps the accessibility issue for the patient as healthcare must be geographically convenient. Technology, such as virtual doctor visits is becoming vi

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The U.S. should initially focus inside its own borders and investigate and deport Muslims who have been identified as radicals. At the same time, a secure border is essential to preventing radical Muslims from illegally entering our country at the Mexican border. An actual physical wall/barrier (with advanced technologies) is absolutely necessary. The U.S. must enforce proper procedures for legal immigration. Moreover, the U.S. has an absolute right to decide which persons are allowed to immigrate into the country. Therefore, regarding extremist Muslims, these people must be properly screened before being allowed to enter our country. Regardless of cultural or ethnic background, the U.S. must only allow people to immigrate that want to assimilate and identify as Americans first. American interests on foreign soil must be protected without the needless loss of American soldiers' lives and American dollars wasted in never-ending wars.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

As a starting point, immigration into the U.S. is absolutely NOT a fundamental universal right. On the other hand, the immigration of anyone who desires to come to our country and follow the proper procedure to legally immigrate into the U.S. is welcome. This procedure does not contain any promises or guarantees regarding the timing of said person's request for immigration. Moreover, the U.S. has an absolute right to decide which persons that the country will allow to immigrate (ie, people who want to assimilate into American culture, while not being forced to abandon their own cultural heritage, and who will contribute to the orderly conduct of our American society, ie, people who have a skillset that is useful to our country and its needs, whether that be job-related or otherwise). The U.S., of course, can choose to allow people to immigrate for humanitarian reasons, but at the U.S.'s discretion alone. The U.S. has a duty to screen people who wish to cause America harm.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was blessed to have been born into and raised in a Christian family. As a youth, I attended a Lutheran church and Redeemer Christian School, which was my Lutheran church's elementary school (K-8). I was further very fortunate by having the opportunity to attend Walsh Jesuit High School. Through my Christian upbringing and the blessing of attending church-based schooling; I developed and internalized a faith-based, moral, ethical, and devotion to service foundation for living life. Later in life, I went through the personal journey and process of renewing and reestablishing my faith. I walk through life with Christ at my side everyday. I currently attend Amherst Evangelical Free Church. I tend to resonate with a so-called non-denominational Christian philosophy. Additionally, through my self-study and devotionals, I find messianic Jewish teachings to be compelling.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I attended church-based schooling before attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, where I continued a strong faith-oriented approach to life. Obviously, while at West Point, I was trained and educated under Constitutional, liberty, patriotic, conservative, and military/national defense-oriented principles. I served five (5) additional years of active duty service in the U.S. Army as an Armor (tanks) combat arms officer attaining the rank of Captain. I have been a Life Member of the NRA since 1975. I am a member of the Republican Party and ran as a Republican when I ran for the office of State Representative. Likewise, I am currently running as a Republican for U.S. Congress.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I would like to ask the people of the 9th Congressional district, what has Marcy Kaptur really done for you over the last 38 years since she took office in 1983? Has she or the Democratic-controlled local governments of this region made your life better? Factually, the standard of living has clearly declined during those years. Ironically, even as we see amazing advances in medical technology, our collective health is significantly worsening. Things could not be worse culturally. We all share the common dream of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Yet, we live in the "angriest" and most discontented times in American history. No one in Washington, DC cares about you and me. The Democrat machine does not care about our well-being. I am your last best chance to send a representative to Washington, DC who really cares about our region and who will practice selfless service instead of self-serving. I am a Servant, Advocate, Leader, and Patriot who puts America First!

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The second Amendment is perfectly clear. "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." Therefore, I am a strong proponent of the people's right to own firearms as they see fit. However, I do not oppose current restrictions that outlaw fully automatic weapons or other weapons that only have a military application (such as cannons, explosives, etc.) Most mass shootings (and shootings period) have a root cause of some form of mental illness of the perpetrator.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1) "Invest in America First Act." For every dollar of foreign aid, at least an equal match must be made for domestic spending that benefits only Americans. 2a) Eliminate daylight savings time; 2b) States right issue - allow each state to choose what time zone they want to be in based on their local needs. 3) Sponsor: Working with bipartisan support; Repeal the SCOTUS decision in Citizens United that treats corporate campaign contributions as if they were coming from individual citizens.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism has become a threat to domestic security in the U.S. Sadly, it is artificially created racism that has made the problem worse, which continuously divides Americans as opposed to uniting our citizens. The previous Presidential administration did more to damage race relations than had been done in the previous 30 years. The media and other powerful entities purposely scream racism in an effort to drive a wedge between diverse groups of Americans who, in reality, have far more in common than they do different. A united American citizenry is a powerful force with which to reckon. That is why so many unseen forces do everything in their collective power to keep us apart and divided instead of working together in cooperation.
