OTHER INFORMATION
This candidate voted for H.R. 485, the Protecting Care for All Patients Act, which would prohibit federal health programs from using discriminatory measures known as Quality-Adjusted Life Years (QALYs.) A vote for the bill is a pro-life position that indicates opposition to reducing or eliminating care for people with various disabilities and chronic conditions.
Candidate discusses the national deficit and soaring inflation in an interview with Mike Huckabee on the Huckabee show.
One of 149 House Republicans who voted for H.R. 3746, the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, which suspended the nation's debt limit through January 1, 2025. A vote for H.R. 3746 allows the government to spend without limitation for 19 months at an expected cost of $4 trillion.
This candidate voted against HR 8404 repealing the Defense of Marriage Act. This vote indicates the candidate holds a position that supports traditional marriage.
QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I believe that life begins at conception and should be protected. We have a fundamental moral obligation to defend the unborn.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
No federal funding should be used to encourage or pay for abortions. I have voted repeatedly against the use of federal funds for these purposes.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Government should refrain from establishing a state church or religion. Our country was based on Judeo-Christian foundations; those founding principles have guided this nation, our founding documents, and our leaders throughout history. The church's autonomy is established by God and defined by Scripture. The government's power is only by the consent of the governed.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
Both B and C are true.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes! Israel is an important, strategic ally in the Middle East. The US & Israel share a Judeo-Christian worldview, commitment to individual liberty, intelligence sharing and military support. Our partnership with Israel is integral to maintaining stability in the region and across the globe.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Service in the US Armed Forces has been demeaned and disrespected by our "woke" culture, institutions of higher learning, and the mainstream media. In addition, many young people, as well as family members who are career military or veterans, are concerned that the US position on the global stage has weakened and that there is not adequate support for the U.S. military from the executive branch.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Individual states and military branches have had established precedent of requiring vaccines in certain situations. No entity should mandate experimental vaccines. There should always be options for healthcare autonomy, religious and moral exemptions.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
Congress should make permanent most of the expiring provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act including keeping taxes low for middle class families. Immediate expensing of Research and Development expenditures should be made permanent.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Our country is a nation of immigrants. However, our current immigration system is broken.Individuals who attempt to apply legally have difficulty navigating & completing the process, while others are allowed to cross our borders illegally & unhindered, then released here with no accountability. We need a revised process that prioritizes the safety & security needs of our country while requiring immigrants to complete legal requirements of residency & citizenship in a timely, accountable process.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The Second Amendment places no restrictions on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To preserve and protect the rights of its citizens as defined in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution

VALUES
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My Christian beliefs and values are based in and guided by God's Word in the Holy Scriptures and are inextricably linked to who I am as a person, husband, father, and public servant.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.
Strongly Disagree
The climate is always cyclical and changing. However, there is little that government regulation can do to solve this problem. The solution is for government to promote policies that encourage the private sector to develop new technological advances. Through American innovation, we can address climate challenges.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
An "all of the above" approach is most sensible. There is a role for alternative energy sources, but not with permanent federal subsidies & an unfair, unsustainable regulatory environment that picks winners rather than allowing the free market to work
