Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In the very rare case when the life of the mother is at stake. This becomes very much like a field commander on a battlefield decision, where you must choose the life of one over the life of the other. However, with modern medicine - Caesarean section, the issue is moot. Caesarean section, also known as C-section or caesarean delivery, which is the use of surgery to deliver one or more babies. A caesarean section is often necessary when a vaginal delivery would put the baby or mother at risk.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Radical Islamic terrorism is a misnomer. The correct term would be "fundamental" Islamic terrorism, and here's why. In simple terms, the Koran promotes Sharia - Islamic canonical law based on the teachings of the Koran and the traditions of the Prophet (Hadith and Sunna), prescribing both religious and secular duties and sometimes retributive penalties for lawbreaking. The easiest and surest way to Allah is to be a martyr for Allah. It is used as a honorific justification for Muslims who have died fulfilling a religious commandment, especially those who die waging jihad. The act of martyrdom is istishhad. The word shahid in Arabic means "witness". To eradicate the threat of fundamental Islamic terrorism, a reformation within Islam is required, where the violent parts of Sharia would no longer be taught, espoused and followed. Short of that, the United States would have to OUTLAW Sharia, much like it OUTLAWED the Nazi Party and forced Hirohito to admit he was NOT a God after WWII

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The nature of mankind is a sinful, fallen nature, and therefore our Founding Father's believed it was necessary to limit the power any one branch of government could amass, and for the coequal branches of government to be a check and balance for each other. The Constitution and Bill of Rights is to constrain government from overreach and our right to self rule. As President Lincoln said, "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, should not perish from the earth".

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a Christian, Conservative, Patriot and then Republican. Pro life, and believe our Second Amendment is to keep a tyrannical government at bay. I am a Session Member [Elder], at First Presbyterian Church, Sandusky, Ohio and sing weekly with my father in the choir. My personal relationship with Jesus Christ, is very important to me and without my faith, I would not be able to do all that He has called me to do. I believe we are to be salt of the earth and let our light shine. As my 83 year old mom says, "We desperately need statesmen - those who will do what's right for the country, vs those who only do right for themselves."

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My new "tell all" book, "Checkmate - One Man's Fight Against Political Corruption", is an eye opening, fact based, real time, "Swamp Exposing" story that is a must read for those concerned with winning Ohio in 2018 and President Trump's re-election in 2020. I rip the lid off and shine the light of truth on all the corruption I discovered, that's done in the dark, secret places. As the Sandusky Register's February 14, 2018, review of my book so aptly states, "Gov. John Kasich...and various officials in Ohio's judicial system also should skip the book it they were hoping for praise." All Swamp is local, and it's time to Drain the Swamp!

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I will fight to replace Obamacare with better free-market solutions that places patients, families, and doctors in charge of care instead of Washington, D.C. I believe that every American can have access to quality, affordable care by making health insurance portable from job to job so that we no longer have to rely on our employer for insurance. I will fight to allow Ohioans the right to waive their right to sue physicians in exchange for reduced healthcare costs. Health savings accounts should be more accessible and easier to use, small businesses and individuals should be allowed to band together to reduce costs, and junk lawsuits must be stopped. Finally, no one should ever have to worry about their coverage being taken away because of their age, income, or medical condition.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

As a small business owner, I understand that American job creators need: less interference and lower taxes. That is why my number one priority in Congress is to promote an atmosphere for job creation, economic growth, and higher wages for families across Ohio’s North Coast. Regulatory burdens from Washington fall heaviest on small businesses. Businesses with fewer than 20 employees spend more than $2,000 per employee than big businesses to comply with federal mandates. I have no problem with common sense regulation but will use every available tool to combat bureaucratic overreach and eliminate unnecessary regulations that slow economic growth and threaten Ohio’s badly needed North Coast jobs.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

An outdated tax code and unnecessary regulatory burdens influences companies to send American jobs across the border. I will work with President Trump to improve upon the policies of de-taxation and deregulation. We can never tax or regulate ourselves into prosperity. I will fight for a pro-growth simplified tax-plan and regulatory policies that will encourage job growth and wage increases for all Americans. I support dramatically simplifying our tax code by more than lowering rates, we can replace the income tax with a Constitutionally limited national sales tax. A national sales tax is collected by the states and restores power to the states by giving states the power of the purse.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

From a young age, my parents taught me to be kind, generous, and to value service. Ohioans share these values and are blessed with numerous churches and charitable organizations who serve the most vulnerable in our communities. The federal government can do a better job of helping people escape the poverty trap. It is time to stop measuring the success of anti-poverty programs not by how much money is spent, but instead by how many people are helped. I believe that we should equip people with a skill-set that will help them find and maintain a good paying job. Additionally, work should be incentivized so that no one loses money after getting a raise. Let’s test the system and promote the ideas that actually work. More opportunities can be created for millions of Americans by attacking poverty at its roots, rewarding work, and tailoring benefits to people’s needs.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Facilitate a job creation atmosphere where U.S. employers have a large quantity of quality workers paying into the social security program and stop allowing the Federal Government to spend the Social Security Tax Dollars collected on other programs.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Steven W. Kraus is a christian, patriot, and constitutional conservative. He's an 11 year active duty Air Force veteran, 7 year contractor to Air Force Special Operations Command including tours to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Provide Comfort [enforcing the No Fly Zone over Northern Iraq,] and Operation Uphold Democracy. He has a bachelors in science from Troy State University, and has traveled the world over numerous times. Steve has worn many different hats in his life - USAF Special Forces, defense contractor field engineer, coal fire power plant field engineer, licensed realtor, auctioneer, and state representative of Ohio's 89th House District. Currently Steve is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church, author, and congressional candidate for Ohio's 9th Congressional District.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

President Trump and I have a lot in common. I started draining the Ohio swamp in 2014 when I won a race I wasn't suppose to, against impossible odds, as the outsider, and upset the preverbal "apple cart" of the establishment. In both cases, "all hell broke loose" and the Swamp retaliated to take both Trump and me out of office. Unfortunately for me, the Swamp was successful [for now]. Hence my new book, "Checkmate - One Man's Fight Against Political Corruption", available on Amazon. Against all odds, with little to no help from the Republican Party, Steve Kraus beat the 11 year incumbent and 10 year chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party Chris Redfern. Then Steve made Ohio history again in 2017, as a pro se litigant, getting retired visiting Judge Dale Crawford booted from his case for his admitted relationship with Chris Redfern. I'm a fighter, please get me back in the fight. I will make you proud, help Drain the Swamp, and Make America Great Again! www.krausforthehaus.com
