Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Strongly Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As the proud father of a Down syndrome young man, I understand that God makes each and every person in his likeness and we are all perfect in his eyes. My son is perfect and I thank God each and every day for his beautiful life. I believe that it is that all life is precious and we need to fiercely preserve and protect the sanctity of this gift.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

America's Founding Fathers recognized that passion and self-interest are permanent parts of human nature. That's why they designed a system of governance that would harness these inherent human qualities and pit them against one another through our system of checks and balances. The Founders also feared majority factions that would abuse individual rights, which is why they added to the Constitution a Bill of Rights that would secure individual rights against majorities.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

From a young age my parents taught me that the three most important things in life - God, Family, and County. Both of my grandfathers were members of the clergy so throughout my life they have inspired me with their unwavering devotion to God and their strong convictions in their faith. I was baptized in the Methodist Church and have chosen to belong and instill the values of my faith to my children. Throughout my life I have had successes and losses, moments of joy and moments of despair, however through every situation no matter how good or bad, my reliance on my faith has guided me and provided me with the fortitude and the strength necessary to pull through.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

As a staunch conservative I believe in a limited government and returning power back to individuals. One of the biggest threats facing our nation, is a big, unchecked federal government. That is why I have continuously fought to reduce the size of our bloated government, cut our deficit, reduce spending levels, and lower taxes to unleash the power of the free enterprise system. Here are some examples of my conservative voting record: - Voted to successfully cut annual deficits from $1.523 trillion in FY2009 to $486 billion in FY2016. - Introduced legislation, the Protecting American Lives Act, to defund sanctuary cities, stop violent crimes committed by criminal illegal aliens, and protect our rule of law. - Voted against raising the debt limit. - Voted more than 60 times to dismantle ObamaCare. - Voted to defund Planned Parenthood. - Stopped the Administration's attack on the 2nd Amendment through their proposed plan to ban certain ammunition.
