I am a graduate of Arlington High School and Everett Community College I have served on many civic boards and participated in countless community activities as a lifelong resident of Washington's 1st Congressional District. I am the past Board President of Arlington Christian School and I Arlington First Baptist Church. I Served three terms in the Washington State House of Representatives and served on the following committees whiel in the Legislature: Transportation; Criminal Justice & Corrections; Agriculture & Ecology, Capital Budget. I was Elected to County Council in 2002 and am now in my third term on the Council. I was Council Chair in 2004, Vice Chair 2002, 2003 & 2005, Chair of Planning & Community Development Committee 2002-2005, Chair of Operations Committee 2006-2010. Currently Chair of Law & Justice/Human Services Committee. I was elected by my peers to serve as President of the Washington Association of Counties in 2011.
