QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I support the current Texas law as passed by the Texas Legislature. Should be allowed only when a doctor has determined there is a legitimate threat to the life of the mother and there are no other options.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Disagree

I agree with the current Texas law. Many in the medical community and people of faith disagree on this issue. It is an issue that should be made by an individual (or their legal representative) between their doctor, family and religious leaders.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Individual and businesses should not be forced to provide services as long as they are not discriminating based on race or violating other laws in effect.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a long-standing friend and partner for security and economic reasons. As a believer in God's word, "Blessed is everyone who blesses you, and cursed is everyone who curses you." Numbers 24:9

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C} Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

No mandates without options to opt out. Parents should decide what is best for each child. We have benefitted from vaccinations for polio, measles... but some individuals have allergies and legitimate medical reasons to avoid vaccinations.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Employers should provide a fair minimum wage appropriate for their demographic area. I do not support a mandatory wage dictated from the federal government that is the same for every type business & demographic area with varying COL factors.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Under the Biden Administration our borders have been abandoned creating a national security and economic crisis for our entire country.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Agree

A very complicated issue that has been debated for years. I strongly agree that finding a way for every child to receive a quality education should remain a top priority for our elected officials.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

The question is very general. I am not for defunding the police and believe many police departments in our cities need additional officers. I am not opposed to reviewing budgets and redirecting funds if some programs, such as mental health programs, should be funded in addition to a strong well-funded police force.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

U.S. Citizens should have very few restrictions for gun ownership in order to protect themselves. With open borders and our country being invaded with possible terrorists and criminals we need to have laws that prohibit those here illegal from possessing weapons. If someone is proven through appropriate processes to have a mental condition that makes them a threat to others there should be restrictions on their ability to possess weapons.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Current Texas law allows teachers to carry. This should be left up to each school district to meet the needs of their district. (Hiring security vs armed teachers). I believe it wise that only those who have taken and passed credible gun use and safety classes should be allowed to possess guns at school.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

National security. Energy independence. Protecting our Constitutional Republic. Governing is a complicated process in a state and nation with very diverse backgrounds, demographic areas and needs. Government should always strive to help the most and hurt the least with every law it passes and every regulation it issues.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I grew up and remain in a strong Catholic family.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism still exists in some individuals. As a nation we have come a long way in the past 100+ years. Racism is not restricted to one race but can exist in all races toward others. Unfortunately, I believe it has been used too frequently by those who just want it as a political tool to divide people for their political goals. This pits individuals and groups against each other which can cause civil unrest. The true victims of racism can get lost in the process.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

A and C

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

A combination of sources. Fossil fuels will continue to be the dominant source for a long time. Wind, solar, nuclear, & geothermal will continue to improve and grow and will be sources to supplement our growing energy demands in the future.
