Our Founders understood that mankind could be corrupted by power and thus established a system of limited powers, both in the form of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, that have allowed our nation to become the most successful, and freest, representative republic (rather than pure democracy) in the history of the world.

As a Christian, I believe that people are endowed by their Creator with inalienable rights and that the duty of those elected to office is the protection of those rights. Congress should work to protect the rights of the people rather than find end-arounds to take them away.
