REVIVE OUR MIDDLE CLASS – Decline of the middle class is a crucial concern. Congress must address this, including by: (a) enacting tax relief that favors the middle class; (b) creating good jobs by investing in infrastructure, education and clean energy; (c) raising the minimum wage to a living wage; (d) closing corporate tax loopholes; and (e) protecting consumers by taking strong actions to ensure accountability on the part of financial institutions. SAVE OUR SENIORS – Social Security is vital to the residents of our area, nearly one-third of whom are current beneficiaries. To save and protect our seniors, I will fight against: (a) privatizing or partially privatizing Social Security for future seniors; (b) converting Medicare into a premium support/voucher system; and (c) privatizing the Veterans Affairs Health Care System.
