OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

With the recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling that embryos are children, it is more important than ever to ensure we protect the sanctity of unborn life and ensure the protection of the rights of the unborn child.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

That is a trick question. Chemical abortion drugs should be outlawed, but if they are available, we definitely need to gather evidence to support the argument against them.

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

I am ardently pro-life, therefore, I do not believe there is an option for the slippery slope of "elective" abortion.

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

Yes, of course it does. Psalm 106 warns of a nation that poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. I support a ban, complete ban, on abortion. I am willing to redirect the narrative beyond just pro-life, pro-choice to the real message of class warfare, adoption options, underprivileged oppression.

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

Propose the Fed be required to target growth rate of money equally to growth rate of GDP. Stop fluctuation in the money supply so markets can stabilize. I will support a renewal of the TCJA and a increase in the standard deduction.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

If a student takes out a loan, that student is responsible for that loan. I know of a student, an adult student, who would take out more than needed and use the excess for vacation and personal purchases. There is absolutely no room for forgiveness for these loans. This is a form of welfare fostering irresponsibility.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

Absolutely not. ESGs provide an incomplete measure of impact on society and our measuring process often fails to provide complete and overall insight.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The state does not have the right, nor the power, to impose religious demands on the church. In my opinion, however, the church (as the bride of Christ), absolutely has a responsibility to elect principled, moral people for representation, thereby influencing outcome in government.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Moral and religious beliefs are the thread of our being and the core of our principles, regardless of which religion. To violate that system is to denounce the code of the Declaration of Independence which allows an individual the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

None. A child leaving the safety of a mother's womb, is vulnerable until building an immune system to fight disease. I am adamantly opposed to shots for babies. Based on personal experience, I advocate against newborn shots.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

D - but it would have to be phased-out over an extended period of time. The market that is free works best to meet the needs of the people. Before insurance companies the church insured the people were provided for and acted as the first insurance company in the world. At the end of the day, D will lower rates, create market competition, and handily drive prices down. Healthcare needs a reform to lower cost.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

Part 1 of C is, unfortunately, where we are, Part 2 of C at "and" is where I would like to see us, but B is where we find ourselves, simply because while D sounds great as rhetoric, it is incomprehensible to think we could exist in a world with nuclear weapons and hate for America and not have skin in the game to keep our liberty secure. Every nation is a threat that is not with us. Those countries that can be an ally are the countries we may consider lending a hand to in the fight for freedom.

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

The Chinese Communist Party is an enemy of the nation and should be treated as such.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

If not for religious belief, then through historical context, there is a repeated pattern of nations aligning with Israel prospering and nations against Israel faltering. If for no other reason than to secure the hand of Providence in our favor, it is imperative we stand with Israel.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

Many factors: the absence of Patriotism in the educational system, dissolution of the family, decline in American pride, removal of Americanism in our tourist destinations, social media distractions, a decline in teaching civics and history. Basically, as we erase the culture of who we are as Americans, we will see a decline in the desire to protect the "experiment" that provides our liberty. I advocate for mandatory service after graduation. So do my 3 sons - 17, 19, and 25 all newly enlisted.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

This isn't even a subject for discussion, it is subject of immediate action. The penetrable southern border poses grave dangers to our national security via drugs, cartels, murder, rape, and most prominently, the fact that being here is "illegal".

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who do so by the process established for legal immigration.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

This is the clearest path to providing equal opportunity for our students and providing a level playing field in education.

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

That is a prominent part of my platform, and I have been advocating for this for nearly 28 years. The issue is not can we, it is will we? That starts with a principled leader changing the narrative in Washington.

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

No government should want to. What purpose would a government have to redefine a worldwide recognized norm that has existed for centuries. Only a government that has exalted itself to the level of having the ability to be equal in "ordaining" a definition.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, until I was an adult. Children are born with the inability to rightly divide good and evil and until they are at an age to completely comprehend and weigh the decisions that will affect them for a lifetime, it is the responsibility of every elected official and member of society to protect that innocence.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

At no point, for no reason. Absolutely not.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all people are created equal and are endowed by their Creator to live according to their own will and choices. For my self personally, I believe in God, the One True God, the Lord of Hosts. My belief system is regulated by His law and His standard of conduct. I do not advocate for a theocratic government, however, I would legislate according to the principles and moral conviction found within the scriptures. My views, my vision, my character attributes, and my hope for the correction of injustice have been influenced by the commands found in the Word of God.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We show a photo ID to board a plane. How much more should we show a photo ID to cast a vote. The right to vote is so precious, it deserves to be protected by proof of identity.

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Neutral

I have pros and cons: the founders created it to make sure large states did not dominate small ones and that power between Congress and state legislatures was balanced. However, that was before the influx of illegals, which the founders never foresaw, and the tilt in the electoral college based on census population. Still, a majority rules is dangerous and subject to the mood of the people rather than rationale. This is not an easy fix.

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Critical race theory replaces the ability to think, to reason, to weigh information and form an opinion. It reduces an individual to profiling and lumps all in that profile into the same group. Reasoning is no longer sound and sound bites are now the new reasoning. It is a classical "dumbing-down" of our society.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

There really isn't a whole to say on this subject. If an individual is born with the anatomy that science relegates to male or female, then by birthright, that is the biological determination and that is the end of the subject.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Disagree

Things we have done, of course have cause disruption and the decline of our global integrity. In the same respect, this earth will not always be and there will come a day when the natural aging and the Biblical destruction of it will come. It does not mean we knee-jerk and politicize evidence that has existed for many years. We evaluate and use common sense to appreciate and protect our world, but not at the expense of regulation and force.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Coal is the number one energy source for electricity. Because of its abundance, reliability and affordability coal is key to alleviating energy poverty around the world.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

The idea of lining people up on a sliding scale is a little disconcerting. I believe, with an uneducated electorate, the profiling through names is confusing and damaging. If I am to be determined by the scale, I would be very conservative, preferring less government, more freedom, less regulation, more supply/demand industry, and fostering an environment where people create a market of prosperity through private partnerships.

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Government exists to exercise justice, preserve liberty, and foster people's ability to live peaceful and quiet lives. In governing, it should seek, serve, and promote the common good of the people, not the good of the leaders.

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

No! There was a time when 30 years was a novelty, but with longer life expectancy, justices appointed by Obama and Trump may still there in 2050. Expansion opens the door to further partisan warfare while diminishing the Court's authority. If anything, in this day and age, I would advocate for term limits to the court, albeit they may be very long term limits to allow justices to develop expertise and influence on the Court, but nonetheless, not death as the term limit.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

No, I do not advocate to "defund the police". If anything, we need to more strongly back the blue.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None! We need to give the police the resources to fight public offenders and we need to make the punishment fit the crime so that future offenders will not want to encounter the same convictions. Public safety diminishes with gun restrictions. Public safety increases with gun ownership and training. The 2nd Amendment ensures the people remain free to experience liberty. We need to change the narrative.
