Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe the use of abortion as an acceptable means of birth control is immoral. I believe that women deserve to have high quality reproductive health care provided by an MD and have access to specialized care by an OB-GYN. When facing a complication in pregnancy that may require the termination of the pregnancy, I believe the best place to make those difficult decisions is in consultation with her personal physician. The political bias and use of second level providers in the impersonal environment of Planned Parenthood prevents women from receiving the quality health care they deserve, and often results in unnecessary termination of pregnancy. I believe my views are pragmatic, and compassionate.

Our right to assemble in Worship, to speak our faith in the public square cannot be restrained by government. There is a wall of separation that limits the government from impinging on our right to express religious views, whether in schools, or prisons, or any other public institution, not the other way around. We are now experiencing the consequences of the ceding of our right to freedom of religion under the 1st amendment.

I believe the Nation is held together by a social compact built on principles of freedom in Christ, which is the basis for self-government. Our nation is deeply rooted in the Bible and by careful study, those principles guide my legislative decisions. My faith gives me hope and I wish to encourage the Body of Christ to engage the culture in meaningful ways to bring light during these challenging times.

I completed my Bachelors of Science in Crop Management from University of Idaho, served as an Agriculture Educator in Ubon, Thailand prior to starting a career with a entrepreneurial start-up that introduced canola production in Eastern Washington. I married a dry-land wheat farmer and have co-managed the farms, growing the company from 1400 acres to 3200 acres. Including my service in Thailand, my work in agriculture and my legislative endeavors, I have been entrepreneurial and embrace the risks and challenges of free enterprise. I raised three girls. I also cared for my mother, in our home for 14 years, until her death. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease. As a citizen legislator, I believe the insights gained from living a rich and meaningful life is a great qualifier for serving.

We need to respect the civil rights that are protected in the Constitution. The Second Amendment rights are fundamental to protection of liberties. We have many laws that regulate gun purchases. They are sufficient to provide assurance that legal purchases are made by responsible people that will not pose a threat to public safety.

I also intend to introduce an Urban Forestry bill that will assist in reducing the Urban Heat Island Effect. I am looking at legislation to provide liability protection for businesses opening up following the Covid pandemic.
