Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self-interest into the most productive economic system there is.

Strongly Agree

There should be a strict constitutional spending limit for state and local governments that would tie the rate of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.

Strongly Agree

Marijuana should be legalized and regulated like tobacco and alcohol.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Sin and the fact that we have a fallen nature. The Founders understood that men are weak and can only do what is best with help and strength from Almighty God.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In all honesty, I struggle with whether it is acceptable in the case of the mother's life truly being in danger, but I do not believe it is justified in any other instance. Adoption is a much better alternative if a mother or parents do not wish to keep a baby.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am saved only by the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ and apart from Him I am nothing. When I was five years old, my Dad explained that I was a sinner and needed to believe on Jesus for Salvation. I accepted Him into my heart, but did not try to live it daily until my college years. I finally realized it is not a "Sunday only" thing, but you must live for Christ Monday through Saturday and in all aspects of your life. I am now married with three boys and my wife and I are committed to nurturing and admonishing Godly principles into our sons and any additional siblings they may have one day. Proverbs 3:5-6 is very pertinent for me and I believe John 3:16 sums up the plan of God for the world.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

As a member of the Jacksonville City Council, I voted 'no' on whether to add special LGBT preference laws to the books. I also voted against several attempts to both raise taxes and increase the debt ceiling. Beyond that, I voted against the appointment of an individual to the Human Rights Commission who was national chairman of an organization that was under investigation by the Federal government. The organization was ultimately labeled an un-indicted co-conspirator to terrorist acts.
