QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Personally, I would not have an abortion under any circumstance. If the life of the mother is truly at risk, I believe the mother, and father, ideally need to make this decision for themselves and their family.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I will continue to work for lower taxes overall to reduce the burden on individuals, families, and businesses. This requires reduced government spending, which needs to happen regardless of changes, or not, to the tax code. We need to move back to a lower corporate tax rate in the U.S.A. to attract renewed investment, strategic jobs and healthy economic growth again in America. There should never be a tax "marriage penalty", especially for widows who decide to re-marry.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The concept of "separation of church and state", whether based on the 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson or the first part of the 1st Amendment in the Constitution which says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." has wrongly been taken far out of context and used to silence the church on many issues, and remove the church from having influence in the public square. Actually what this section of the 1st Amendment reveals is that the government has no place interfering in religious matters. The church has wrongly believed, for the most part to this day, that they don't have full 1st Amendment rights that they actually do have such as a pastor or the church being able to introduce a political candidate (per 2019 copy of Liberty Counsel's Patriot's Handbook of Political Action for Pastors and Churches pg. 49). It's time we get the government back in the box it belongs in and free the church out of the shackles of "separation of church and state". The 1st Amendment IS the 1st Amendment. Freedom of speech and freedom of religion actually give the church a tremendous amount of freedom inside and outside of the church walls that it needs to exercise once again without fear.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
As a WA State Representative in January 2021, I introduced HB 1305 - The Right to Refuse Vaccines or any Health-Related Mandate. After what we've seen and experienced as a complete abuse of government at all levels to force people to be vaccinated with a Covid-19 "emergency use vaccine" against their will, and thousands and thousands of people lost their jobs or careers in many cases if they wouldn't take this vaccine. This should never have happened, and should never happen again.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Since unfortunately so many have become dependent on medicaid and medicare, I do believe there needs to be solvency for these funds (C) in the short-term future so people aren't abruptly cut off for those who truly need it and qualify for it. However, I believe there needs to be a transition plan for the long-term to move people away from such programs (D) so they're able to have and keep more of their money so they can establish retirement plans on their own which many already do today, that will sustain their needs. Our healthcare system has been grossly manipulated on various levels. Obamacare was one of the worst moves this nation has made toward socialism, and it needs to be repealed.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
A. - when freedom is truly being threatened, there are various ways the United States of America can look at intervening based on the severity of the threat to our freedom or to freedom elsewhere which if left unchecked could ultimately impact our freedom (e.g. Putin's invasion of Ukraine). As a result of this aggression and strike on Ukraine, I sponsored HB 2137 to have all state funds removed from Russia so there would be a consequence on Putin for his actions. Ultimately Communist countries such as Russia and China, or others like them who significantly threaten the freedom of innocent people must be held accountable for their actions. The steps to bring accountability will depend on the situation at hand. War should not be taken likely and used as a last option. There are various other options to consider such as financial sanctions, export/import sanctions, diplomatic negotiations, etc. Military response is not always the right or necessary answer, but on those rare occasions when it is needed we must have a strong military ready to act that can respond and take action as needed and win to ensure freedom and security for our citizens and nation.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I will always stand as a strong ally with Israel and believe it is in America's best interest to do so.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We must remove all funding or resources going to country's or groups knowingly involved in sponsoring or supporting Islamic terrorist groups. Where and when appropriate, we must allocate strategic resources to make sure Islamic terrorist leaders and their organizations are not advancing against America or our interests.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who are not criminals, who truly want to be an American, who meet our U.S. immigration requirements, and can contribute to America's success. I don't believe just because you're on U.S. soil means at the time of having a baby entitles that child to be a U.S.A. Citizen, or for every immediate family member to be able to come into this country with no real responsibility. I do think those who are Dreamers, who are here because their parents came, should have an opportunity to become citizens but it would require a real U.S.A. Citizenship acclimation period (somewhat similar to Israel's approach) and they would need to take a test to demonstrate their knowledge of the U.S. constitution and affirm they will uphold it along with our laws in this land. I do think paying a fee also sets a standard that ensures not just anyone can come in, unless they have a true desire and willingness to be an America first and foremost, and be a contributor in our nation.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16. "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." - Romans 10:9-10. I personally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in April 1993. This is the most important and best decision a person could make in their entire life here on earth. Since that time, I've worked to follow Jesus Christ, know Him and His Word more, and do His pleasing will according to His Word / the Bible. I have believed in the values represented by this Declaration of Faith since accepting Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior: https://www.evergreenbible.com/about-us-2/declaration-of-faith/ I invite you to make Jesus Christ your Savior and Lord as well, for the best life possible here on earth and after to live forever in Heaven with God. One of the key scriptures the Lord led me to in 2006 is Isaiah 6:8 - "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" May God bless you, your family, and America once again.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I introduced the most comprehensive election integrity bill HB 2115 in Washington state during the 2022 session. There are many things that need to be changed regarding the election process across our nation to ensure only legal U.S. citizens vote and their vote is properly counted. First of all, Congress should not be considering or passing election laws that would "centralize", at the federal level, the election and voting process. The best way to ensure integrity in our election processes would be for local counties to go back to in-person voting, require the voter to show valid U.S. citizenship ID (e.g. a Driver's License could qualify) to register to vote, or to get a ballot, and use manual voting machines. Other items needing to be addressed: We need to do away with mail-in ballot voting (except for e.g. U.S. military members who are out of their home state), no more drop boxes, no ballot harvesting, no long early-lead time voting, etc. We need to ensure any election / voting systems are not connected to the internet, there are routine forensic audits and forensic imaging of the election and voting systems taking place. Voting needs to happen at the most local levels with those local citizens being able to participate in and oversee the ballot counting process for greater accountability of election officials. It's critical we restore trust and integrity into the election process in America so our citizens can have confidence that who is sitting in office is who was truly elected by the people to serve in office.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Only in the sense that a house divided will fall. We must get away from looking at others based on the color of their skin - that IS what racism actually is. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best - we must look at the content of a person's character, not the color of their skin, to see who they really are. Critical Race Theory (CRT) more commonly called Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is an agenda to divide and destroy America. We all need to get back to basics and as it's said, love your neighbor as yourself. Everyone would be better off, if we all just treated each other with respect and kindness, regardless of their skin color or background.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A) - environmental laws and regulations are destroying America's energy independence by not allowing the use of the Keystone pipeline (e.g. oil drilling, etc.), making housing un-affordable, increasing the prices of gas, food, and other products. This is an easy fix. We just need to end the "climate change" agenda and we'd be able to move to a more independent, sustainable, affordable energy model again in America.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
This year I was honored again to receive the Conservative Excellence Award from the host organization of the national CPAC Conference (Conservative Political Action Committee), that President Trump speaks at annually, for my conservative legislative voting record. That organization is the American Conservative Union Foundation. According to their recent scores, I was the highest ranking conservative in the entire House of Representatives in Washington. These are based on their 2020 Legislative Scores, and they're in process of sending out this year's scorecard for the entire Washington state legislature. Their website is Conservative.org
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am the only candidate in this 3rd Congressional District race with a proven, conservative voting record to back-up everything I'm telling voters. I've done what I said I would do and kept my promises to the people. America is at a crossroads. I am the only candidate in this race who has the legislative and political experience needed to hit the ground running Day 1 to truly fight for you against the communism, socialism and liberal agenda we're experiencing at the Federal government level, and also state and local levels, that are literally working to destroy America and our God-given Constitutional rights and freedoms as we know them. I will continue to fight for your 1st Amendment and 2nd Amendment rights. My first bill passed was to help Disabled Veterans. I sponsored legislation to reform governor emergency powers, protect your right to refuse vaccine mandates and sponsored the most comprehensive election integrity bill in Washington state. Continuously I've worked for a more limited, accountable government, a strong economy that promotes our American free market and small business growth. We must close the Southern Border to stop the flow of criminals, illegal drugs and sex trafficking pouring into our nation. I'll work to equip the Border Patrol and ICE with the resources and authority needed to do their job and work to finish the border wall. I've voted in support of our law enforcement so they can do their jobs as needed to keep our communities safe, and I'll continue to back them. We must end the Federal government spending spree and institute a balanced budget. I've been the leading Legislator in Washington state fighting for parents' rights, against Comprehensive Sex Ed and gender confusion, and as a result introduced school choice legislation. Regarding foreign policy, America must always operate in strength and sovereignty, including having a strong military to protect our nation, citizens and freedom. This year I sponsored HB 2137 to remove all Washington state funding from Russia in response to Putin's invasion of Ukraine and his attack on the Ukrainian people. To promote our economic growth in SW WA, I'll keep working for an additional bridge between WA and OR. We must reduce traffic congestion on I-5 for our commuters and freight drivers with no light rail and no tolls! My first year in the Legislature in 2017, I started a bi-partisan caucus on sex trafficking prevention. I will also revisit the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act in light of recent Covid-19 vaccine mandates and injuries. Together, we can get America back on the right track, and see Southwest Washington thrive for you, your family and future! I ask for your vote.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
We must protect the 2nd Amendment. There are laws to address those with true mental health issues from being able to harm themselves or others.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
