OTHER INFORMATION

Voted Yes for House Roll Call Vote 1337 pro-life 2016 which was the final concurrence vote in the Indiana House on a pro-life bill from this session that banned abortion because of race, gender or disability and also mandated that abortion clinics must dispose of aborted babies through a relationship with a funeral home via either burial or cremation. Currently they are allowed to treat aborted baby bodies as "medical waste". Voted No for SB 20 sexual orientation 2016 which is an amendment to a bill in the Indiana House that would have added special protections for "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" into state law.

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Life of the mother.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It's a term Thomas Jefferson used, I believe, but not one found in the Constitution. A total separation would forbid prayer in schools, and I don't believe that is what religious liberty is about.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would open up competition among providers to drive down costs. For example, new insurance providers have to be approved by the state. Take away some red tape to allow more plans to Indiana residents. Let the individual have more health coverage choices. Further, mandates of certain plans cost the consumer more.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Get rid of waste, fraud, abuse. Reduce the size and scope of regulatory agencies. In specific regard to the federal budget, slow spending and cut bloated department budgets. Reduce the size of the federal workforce. Stop baseline budgeting.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Immigrants should meet high criteria and an eagerness to absorb into the United States' culture and environment. They should bring something positive to the nation.

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Criminals and those with extensive criminal records should not be allowed to carry or own guns, clear and simple. That's why I voted for constitutional carry, so law-abiding citizens can defend themselves.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Reduce the burden of property taxes and taxes in general, to aid in growing Indiana's economy. 2. Restrict the mail order into Indiana of abortion drugs. 3. To aid smaller communities and towns who have been left behind, aiding in local projects such as business recruitment to stimulate their economy.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

My record as a state representative from 2016 to 2022. I was voted one of the most conservative House members by CPAC.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Former state representative, county councilman and county recorder. Small business owner for more than 40 years. Horse farmer. Demolition business owner. Husband, father, grandfather.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a retired firefighter and worked eight years for Indiana Farm Bureau co-op. I was vice chair of the Indiana House Natural Resources committee. And President Trump endorsed me because he knows my record. He said in a January Truth Social post that I will never let the taxpayer down.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God, whose Son is Jesus Christ. I believe God is love, and I pray for the peace, prosperity, health and welfare of my fellow citizens. And I pray daily for our leaders, including President Trump.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, not to domestic security. I have faith in the American people that racism is not close to being a predominant view in the hearts of Americans.
