What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Man's sin nature means that no one person or entity can be trusted with power. If men were angels, then no government would be necessary, but power tends to corrupt people. However, when power is divided and balanced, man's nature to compete and fight actually serves to protect the liberty of the people as different segments of the government hold each other accountable based on self interest. Our Constitution was actually designed to stop things from getting done.
Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, voters, Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only to legitimately save the life of the mother, and this should come with a high level of proof and scrutiny.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in a personal God who interacts and intervenes in the lives of the people He created. I believe in the Bible and the authority of its teaching. God is Holy and man is fallen, in need of a savior. Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God who came into the world to die a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind and to restore his bride the church into relationship with God. People are saved by faith alone, but redeemed to personal holiness through an indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I embrace the authority of Christ, including is teaching to love others and preach the gospel of truth. God is the center of my life. I believe in the authority of parents to lead their families and the individual responsibility to seek God and obey Him. The purpose of man is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Very Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I stand on all my conservative positions from my 2014 State House campaign in which I was endorsed by Indiana Family Action PAC - positions I defended in public debates and media interviews. I wrote extensively for the Bremen Enquirer in the 1990s, arguing for a conservative political philosophy. I have been a conservative activist, petitioning government on behalf of our values going back to my work with Citizens or Common sense in St. Joseph County, Indiana since 1992. I traveled to Indianapolis to stand with pro-family organizations for the Marriage Amendment, RFRA and religious liberty in general frequently over the past 3 years.

Additional comment from candidate:
I am committed, not only to vote for conservative, pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty, low tax and limited government positions, but to actively work to elect others to the General Assembly who will do the same. I am committed to building a conservative majority in Indiana - and will stand up to the caucus and party leadership when they are on the wrong side of important issues.
