OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Strongly Agree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Strongly Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Strongly Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Strongly Agree

Current regulations on domestic oil exploration and drilling are more restrictive than are necessary.

Strongly Agree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

More restrictive gun control laws are needed to protect public safety.

Strongly Disagree

The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Strongly Agree

Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self-interest into the most productive economic system there is.

Strongly Agree

Governments should pay to develop wind and solar energy solutions until they are economically feasible.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with public funds.

Strongly Agree

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.

Strongly Agree

Planned Parenthood should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Marijuana should be legalized and regulated like tobacco and alcohol.

Strongly Disagree

Islamic law (Sharia) does not pose a threat to the United States and its Constitution.

Strongly Disagree

Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God; Voters; the Constitution adopted by the people in the exercise of their sovereignty; the Congress given limited license to speak in certain matters on behalf of the people; the Supreme Court, within the scope of its limited grant of authority.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None. I am unabashedly 100% Pro-Life. I reject the notion that a pre-born baby’s right to life should be contingent on his age (i.e., stage of development), whether he was conceived through consensual sex, whether his biological parents are related, or his mother’s emotional well-being/psychological health. Although I acknowledge the legitimate philosophical question presented by a pregnancy that is defined to represent a very high risk of death to the mother, I am informed by sources I trust, including the American Ass'n of Pro-Life Obstetricians & Gynecologists, that such pregnancies are nearly mythological. The constant, repetitive incantation of this myth by pro-aborts to attempt to create death loopholes in statutes designed to protect the unborn is simply not justified by medical science. Because every life is precious and genuinely pro-life Members of Congress do not yet comprise a majority, I will also support legislation that will save some, but not all, pre-born babies.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

First, man was created free by God Himself and he should remain free to the maximum extent plausible. Second, men are not angels, and they will - individually and collectively - nearly always gravitate toward selfish interests and pure avarice, and the exercise of political power to protect their parochial interests rather than the general good of their society. This truth applies whether the consideration was protecting man from government to protecting one branch of government from the others.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I had the good fortune of being born to Christian parents. Undoubtedly their example and teachings played a major role in my spiritual development. I was never without a moral compass and Christian instruction. Those beliefs and values inform my ideological worldview and policy positions. The $64,000 question for a candidate is: do you really believe what you are saying, or have you simply made a crass political calculation that it behooves you to spout that line? Is it from the heart, or is it from your consultant’s playbook? It nauseates me that this question even needs to be asked, but there are so many cowards and liars seeking and HOLDING office that it now MUST be asked, and asked most vigorously and pointedly, of every candidate. One must now undertake a spirited and skeptical investigation into the heart of all candidates to see who among them speaks with forked tongue. Sadly, both my congressman (Renee Ellmers) and fellow candidate (Jim Duncan) certainly do.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I have an extensive record as a radio talk show host, columnist, signatory to countless public letters, employee of both Congress and political groups, and Conservative Action Project member. Absolutely nothing in my entire public record would contradict anything I have said here, because I do not base my opinion on what I think others want to hear. I base my opinion on what I believe to be right, and have never done otherwise. My positions have thus been consistent and clear. I do not waffle or obfuscate, because I consider my mission to be more important than my position. My lifetime of activism for conservative causes was recognized on the national stage when I was selected by the American Conservative Union to receive the prestigious “Ronald Reagan Award” at the 30th annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). I’ve even been arrested outside Speaker Boehner’s office, protesting his decision to cancel the scheduled floor vote on the Pain Capable Child Protection Act.

Additional comment from candidate:

Kay Daly is a lifelong conservative Republican activist who lives near Pinehurst, NC with her husband and three children. Her life is a testament to her personal and professional commitment to work for the survival of traditional American conservative values. A respected and valued voice for Judeo-Christian values, free enterprise, national security, national sovereignty, and strong constitutional jurisprudence, Kay has testified before Congress and appeared on the Fox News Channel and countless talk radio shows in support of conservatism. By stark contrast, Rep. Renee Ellmers is a full-spectrum RINO (Republican In Name Only) and one fellow candidate (NYC native Jim Duncan) exemplifies New York values. For example, Duncan avoided service in Vietnam; was a Democrat for 30 years; opposes the Republican Party platform on traditional marriage; and, has contributed thousands of dollars to liberal politicians, including a pro-abortion Congressman from Connecticut and Renee Ellmers.
