What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

America's Founders were keenly aware of the Christian doctrine of original sin. They understood that due to man's fallen nature, he has a disordered attraction to sin. Consequently, they sought to protect America's leaders - and more importantly, the American republic and its populace - from the corrupting influence of absolute power by narrowly defining, separating, and limiting powers in the Constitution.

Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

As the Preamble to our Declaration affirms, our rights to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" come from none other than the Creator Himself. The Constitution and the system of government it lays out is simply meant to safeguard those rights

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is the deliberate taking of innocent human life and thus should never be permitted. Procedures which seek to save the life of the mother but do not directly target the child, such as the removal of part of the fallopian tube in the case of an ectopic pregnancy, are lawful; they avoid the utilitarian error of deliberately sacrificing one life for the so-called "good" of another. While such procedures often result in the death of the child as a secondary and unintended effect, they are, by definition, not abortion.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a baptized Christian and a confirmed and practicing Catholic. I strive to bring my Christian faith to bear on all areas of my personal, professional, and political life. Christian principles of morality are not only Biblical articles of faith; they are deeply intelligible to human reason and a well-formed conscience. It is the duty of the Christian statesman to advocate for the Natural Law, that law transcribed on the hearts of all men.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I have never held public office before. My publicly available track record includes my service as founder and president of Madison County Right to Life and my authorship of almost a dozen opinion pieces that have been featured in the county's paper, the Madison Press, and local sister papers. My leadership of Madison County Right to Life demonstrates a commitment to life and to Christian principles at the occasional expense of reputation and possible forfeiture of certain clients as a financial advisor. My articles have boldly articulated conservative values while taking stances on a wide array of issues, including restoring respect for the Constitution; opposition to Common Core and Obamacare; support for workplace freedom legislation; defenses of life and the institutions of marriage, family, and religion. I am happy to furnish copies of any and all article upon request.
