Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe life begins at conception and should be protected until natural death.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Humans are self-interested, ambitious creatures prone to the abuse of power.  The founders made a government of limited powers divided into competing branches to counter the attempts of ambitious individuals to secure their own good at the expense of the public good.  Each branch defends against encroachment by the other branches, the people itself was to guard against encroachment by the government.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  I accepted Christ as my Savior as a teenager and have tried to live each day as he has prescribed through scripture.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

This Session alone, I carried and passed one of the most sweeping pro-life bills in the country that included banning the sale of baby body parts, joint-authored the American Laws in American Courts bill, supported SB 4 which banned sanctuary cities, and voted for a bill that bans state agencies from contracting with companies that boycott Israel.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Texas must continue to create an environment that attracts business (and thus creates more jobs) through low taxation and reasonable regulation.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The private sector, through competition, should lead the way in healthcare coverage. One thing government can do to foster that competition is remove any barriers to purchasing health insurance across state lines.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

State government must continue to have low taxation with reasonable, predictable regulations.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

In addition to being an elected official, I have also been a small business owner and realtor. I have been able to successfully apply those lessons learned in the private sector to my work as an elected official to help.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am proud of my strong, effective conservative record. I've been blessed to have 30 good bills signed into law by the governor. I am hard-working, led by God, and driven by the challenge of turning conservative values into law.
