In the Legislature, I wrote the historic sonogram bill that’s credited with saving tens of thousands of innocent lives and led the push to strip $23 million of taxpayer dollars from Planned Parenthood. Texans deserve public dollars that back our values and protect human life.

Sharia law and the Islamification of our communities has no place in Texas or anywhere in the United States. Our laws come from the Constitution, and that’s the end of it. CAIR - the Council on American Islamic Relations came after me for taking that stand and demanded I apologize. I didn’t then, and I won’t now. I don’t back up, I don’t back down, and I don’t bend when it comes to protecting American and Texas values rooted in our Judeo-Christian heritage.

Public safety is protected by enforcing the law-not restricting the rights of law-abiding Texans. I’ve consistently earned A+ ratings from the NRA & Texas State Rifle Association because I’ve always defended the 2nd Amendment. As Chairman of the Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee in the Texas House, I expanded gun rights and cut burdens on responsible citizens. As Ag Commissioner, I’ve continued that fight, protecting the 2nd Amendment rights of Texans who rely on their firearms daily.
