OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Agree

The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.

I voted in these elections:

2010 General Election, 2010 Primary, 2012 General Election, 2012 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2014 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2016 Primary

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should only be an option in cases where the life of the mother is in danger and every reasonable alternative has been explored.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The United States should strengthen its military power to ensure the complete destruction of the radical Islamist threat.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The Founders knew that absolute power corrupts absolutely, so they divided power under the Constitution.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that God has guided and continues to guide my steps and has led me to where I am today.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I strongly supported the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which implements the core conservative ideals of lower taxes and job promotion. It puts into place Ronald Reagan’s belief that the best social program is a job.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We need to provide certainty for states and stop these double digit rate increases. That’s why I’ve supported: Rep. Ryan Costello’s Cost Sharing Reduction Bill to constitutionally fund CSR payments and create a state and patient stability fund to stabilize insurance markets; Legislation to address medical liability reform, the biggest cost driver in our healthcare system; Association health plans; Health Savings Accounts; and the ability to purchase insurance across state lines

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government should ensure that there is a level playing field, reduce regulations, and keep taxes low.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is a great start to lowering the tax burden placed on American families each year. I want to work with my colleagues to continue finding ways to reduce the tax burden on Eastern Washington families.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to bring down unemployment is to foster a strong economy. Republican policies are working. We are seeing the lowest national unemployment in many years, including the lowest black and hispanic unemployment in years.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I am committed to protecting Social Security. Seniors have worked all of their lives to build our communities, raise their families and make our nation strong. They deserve to receive the retirement benefits they have worked so hard to earn. I will make sure the federal government keeps its commitments to our seniors. However, Social Security must be put on a path toward fiscal sustainability so that it can withstand economic and demographic changes and be available for future generations.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have held this office since 2005. Before that I was a state representative for ten years. I am a working mother of three and have a B.A. and E.M.B.A. For 13 years, I worked on my family’s orchard and family fruit stand in Eastern Washington.
