Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
When desired by the mother and adviswed by her physician.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Stop funding terrorism.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Constitution was written to protect the wealthy and powerful from the oppression of the majority.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Atheist. I believe in life.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Liberal
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I choose to identify as "liberal" on the spectrum for this question to differentiate myself from "conservative" values. However, I generally consider liberals spineless accommodaters of the dictatorship of the wealthy.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
We need free medical school tuition, funded by the federal government to vastly expand numbers of primary care physicians. Primary care should be accessible in all communities. Health insurance companies should be restricted to administering payment to providers. All health care costs should be paid from a single national fund supported by a strongly graduated income tax.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government should restrict infrastructure investment into fossil fuel development, while supporting alternatives that will ultimately replace fossil fuels. Government should enforce labor safety/fairness/environmental laws and assist unionization of all workers. The government should enforce a livable wage as the minimum wage.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
Inheritance taxes should be confiscatory to prevent the creation of dynasties of wealth. Anti-social behavior, such as fossil fuel consumption, should be taxed to discourage its proliferation. All income should be taxed in the same manner. There should not be a lower rate for "unearned" income.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Universal basic income. Unemployment is not a problem. The problem is the lack of resources for non-working people. Everyone should have their needs met, regardless of their ability to work.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Tax all incomes at the same rate for social security. No cap on Social Security contributions.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I led a successful career as a scientist/research chemist. I served as a City Councilor for 12 years.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Environmental degradation, including climate change and depletion of readily accessible fossil fuel resources, guarantees that the future is going to be different from what we have become accustomed to. The future could be a tyranny of the oligarchs who violently extract wealth out of an increasingly impoverished society and natural world. Or the future could be a flourishing of life under democratic principles of equity and fairness. I'm sticking with the possibilities of a democratic future in which human rights and the dignity of the natural world are respected.
