ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
The WI state tax code should be rewritten and simplified. The federal government should fund only what Article 1: Section 8 and the Constitution in general authorizes the federal government to fund. A tax on income is wrong. The 16th Amendment should be repealed. I believe taxes on private property are wrong and should be eliminated. Property taxes are basically a property owner paying rent to the government. Evaluating the value of someone's property for tax purposes based on the market value of other properties around him, something the property owner has no control over, is also wrong.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
The best starting point would be defunding any government agency not listed (enumerated) in the US Constitution. The US Departments of Education, Commerce, the Small Business Administration, just to name a few. Siphoning monies away from the states to fund unconstitutional spending at the federal level is wrong. We are 30 trillion plus in debt; we can't deficit spend and devalue our currency forever. Military based which are no longer vital to our national security should be shuttered and resources redirected elsewhere. Bases overseas not vital to our nation's defense should be shuttered. That will free up monies, too. The Federal Reserve should be eliminated. Congress is supposed to set the weights and standards of the currency, not a private bank like the Fed. There were periods of American history where we had no central bank and America wasn't destroyed. At the state levels, state constitutions should be followed and only those things authorized by their constitutions should be funded. Governments should not be funding welfare programs. Governments don't do charity well because they weren't designed for that purpose.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
College is a choice. If someone chooses to go to college, it is their responsibility to pay for it. If there is to be any publically funded education, it should be just for basics (teaching children how to read, write, math skills, the history of our nation good and bad, their Constitutional rights and the role of government, and perhaps home economics/fiscal responsibility). Taxpayer money shouldn't be for funding sports and other extra-curricular activities.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
There is a difference between generic and designed. Selling someone a plain, generic product doesn't violate a business owner's beliefs. Compelling a business owner by force of law to design something specific (create a message) for someone isn't right. If a business owner doesn't want to design something or provide a specific service using their creative abilities, people can go elsewhere. Businesses are not government. Compelling labor out of a citizen is a violation of the 13th Amendment.

HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
Letter D. Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded. Any public health care funding should be done at the state and local levels, with the consent of the governed in those states. Health care is not an enumerated power in the US Constitution.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
None. If anything, a private employer can encourage and insist its employees to stay home for the duration of a contagious illness they may have (cold, flu, Covid, etc) and children should be kept home by their parents until they recover from a contagious illness, but that is just common sense. Saying to an employee (or a child), "Your employment will be terminated or you will be expelled from school if you do not get a shot." is wrong and I oppose that. If government can compel citizens to get a Covid shot, what else can the government compel citizens to do?

IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Only people who go through the legal process and have the proper documentation or those who have successfully received political or religious asylum. Those who committed criminal acts in their nation of origin or who break our immigration laws to get to America, cutting in line ahead of legal migrants, should never be permitted entry. I oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants. I am against people overstaying their visas. Many people have come to America lawfully. If they did it, other people can too. We must have rule of law in our nation.

EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Strongly Agree
More choices will also force public schools to improve and parents should be able to choose the best education for their children. If in the parents' minds that is a government-run school, so be it. If not, parents should have other options.

VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
This nation was founded on Christian principles, but ultimately, I will respect and support the right of others to worship, or NOT worship, according to the dictates of their conscience. The Constitutional rights of all citizens must be secured. I support and will defend a republic form of government at the state and federal levels.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
We've been told there are actually an "infinite" number of genders; we cannot run a society that way. There are two sexes, two genders and our federal and state governments shouldn't recognize others.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
There is a difference between individual racism (which America certainly and sadly has) and institutional racism. Institutional means the agencies of government, the levers of power, and educational institutions. Minorities are not being prevented from employment/education opportunities, seeking public offices, running businesses, or a wide range of other things, nor should they ever be. Teaching children they are oppressors or victims who can't get ahead because of their race, is wrong!

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a practicing Christian. I believe in taking personal responsibility my actions and decisions. I believe if you want something, you work for it. I don't blame others for my mistakes or fault them for having more things in their lives than I do. I believe some things are right and some things are wrong. I don't believe in moral relativism.

Marriage between one man and one woman and the families they form are the foundation of civilization and are fundamental to the well-being and prosperity of Wisconsin.
Strongly Agree
Men and women are different from each other. They bring different things into a child's life that two men or two women cannot. A mother and a father, in a mutually supportive, loving relationship create a stable environment for children to grow up in.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
People need to be able to show a photo ID for a wide range of activities, why is voting somehow the exception? We all agree voting is important, so why wouldn't we want to verify someone's identity for something important like voting? Every legal citizen and non-felon registered to vote should be allowed to.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I approve of the elimination of drop boxes in WI. I would say I would end same-day registration. People have ample time to register to vote prior to elections. Allowing people to register on the same day of an election, especially a general election when poll workers are busy, creates extra issues. But as that is the law, as a poll worker in my city, I will enforce it and will help people who want to register on election day. I believe the Secretary of State position should also be retained and kept as an elected office to make him/her accountable to voters. The Secretary of State should be the automatic head of the state's Election Commission to protect/strengthen election integrity in Wisconsin. With this increased responsibility, the media will report on this race much more. There will also be public debates held for candidates for this office to help voters make their choices.

EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No, because our nation isn't inherently racist and our government entities aren't institutionally racist. But, for a nation like our made up of many peoples from around the world, not having a set of shared values to hold us together as a people certainly is a threat. To maintain our unity and to long endure, we need a shared language, a shared culture and history taught to this and future generations, rule of law, and equal protection under the Bill of Rights.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
It is unconstitutional and wrong to make people pay for crimes committed by their ancestors. Also, who will decide how much to pay, who gets the reparations, and when the reparations should end?

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. I would add there doesn't always have to be a top-down mentality that the federal government must regulate every environmental protection and the states and businesses must comply regardless of costs. If some people feel their state isn't doing enough protect the environment there, they can vote to replace their elected officials with new people who will do more.

ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
At the federal level, protect the several states from attack and/or invasion, equal justice under the law, secure citizens' rights under the Bill of Rights, maintain rule of law, allow commerce between the states and Article 1: Section 8. At other levels (state and local) maintain roads, enforce the law, provide any taxpayer funded services equally, etc.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I am a Constitutionalist which I believe goes beyond just conservatism.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I have a strong work ethic. I'm honest, ethical and I believe in leadership by example. I am not seeking a career in politics. If elected to State Treasurer I will serve one term. I will work with other to rewrite the state tax code and lobby for it before the state legislature. There is no reason tax forms should be as complicated as they are. I oppose corporate welfare. Public monies should be for public purposes, not given to private businesses. I oppose "crony" capitalism. When I ran for State Treasurer before, I said I opposed stripping the duties of this office, then claiming it was a "do nothing" office. That was a dishonest way of trying to eliminate this office. Now our state officials are trying to make this office an appointed one. If they succeed, it will be less choices for the voters on their ballots and less say in their government. I believe in keeping this office an elected one so voters have more choices on their ballots and more say in their government. I oppose consolidating power in the hands of a few, or with the two current parties in power. I believe whomever is elected to the position of State Treasurer should be the automatic head of the state Department of Revenue. As I said during the last election, it makes no sense to have a Treasurer be outside of a revenue collecting agency.

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support and defend the 2nd Amendment. Only those convicted of a crime while serving their sentence or who are proved mentally unsound beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law should be restricted from gun access. I oppose red flag laws.
