What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Remove any barriers that keep businesses from thriving. Ensure that our children receive the education they need to prepare them for careers or affordable higher education. And do all we can to enable families to thrive intact.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I recently transitioned to a health savings account insurance plan. It has made me a much more consumer-minded health care user. I am certain this will save both my employer and me a lot of money. Whatever we can do to shift people's mentality in this direction will help. And of course, enabling businesses to thrive is important to keeping people employed, and therefore insured. We can also remove the multitude of restrictions on health insurance policies that limit competition and availability.

Recognize that businesses improve the economy, not government. Remove unnecessary restrictions on businesses, lighten their tax burden, and stop changing the rules and regulations! Spending so much time and effort on compliance with ever-changing regulations is not productive.

As a Boeing instructor pilot, I travel the world and see all sorts of examples of government practices that work and do not work. So my vision is outside the tunnel of thinking that what we have is the way it has always been and should be. And having been in the legislature for eight years, I now have good working relationships and credibility with many legislators on both sides of the aisle.

I have personally visited 51,000 homes in our district. I do this because I love my neighbors and want to know them better, so I can continue to represent them well.
