What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
At the state level, we should reduce state agency spending by 10 percent. Missouri has 40,000+ state employees. We can reduce the workforce through greater automation of services using technology. At the federal level, congress must first pass a balanced budget! Federal spending could be cut by ten percent across the board and no one would even notice. A majority of spending is on social programs and to balance the budget we have no choice to but to make reductions in that area.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I believe strongly in the protection of religious freedom for all religions without the government endorsing or supporting any particular religion. While the founders of our country were very religious, they also believed in the separation of church and state from the extent that there should not be the establishment of a state sponsored church similar to that of England. I believe separation of church and state does not mean the complete separation from God. The very nature of lawmaking is moral and thus public policy is based upon moral reasoning. Every lawmaker or elected official has a personal moral compass based on their religious belief or not. Finally, our whole concept of government as written in our constitution is based on the Judeo Christian belief system. For our government to ignore God and try to make a barrier between them is not what the founding fathers envisioned or wanted.

I support and advocate for a true free market health care system. By removing government and other third party payers from the buying and utilization of health care, Americans can have a free market health system. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) need to be encouraged to a majority of the population. The federal government and individual states could set up catastrophic or high risk pools for individuals who have chronic illnesses and diseases to allow them an opportunity to purchase affordable insurance.

I was born and raised in a strong protestant christian family. I was baptised and confirmed as a Lutheran, but also attended Catholic church on occasion with my grandmother and learned at an early age to respect those from different faiths. I am now a practicing Catholic and attend church on a regular basis. Spiritually, I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord God and savior who came down from heaven and died for my sins. Everyday, I strive to be humble, honest, generous with my time and money, forgiving of others and to live a moral life.

I have over 20 years of real world business experience and currently own a small company for the past ten years. Throughout my life I have sought and held numerous leadership positions in the private and public sectors.

I’m a husband and father of two sons with a strong Christian faith. Having grown up as a young man in rural Missouri, I learned the importance of a strong work ethic. My parents owned and operated several businesses, and they worked very hard to provide for their family. Throughout my life I have always sought and have served in leadership positions, both in the private and public sector. As a small business owner, I strongly believe in capitalism and free enterprise. I consider myself to be a constitutional conservative who believes that government is not the solution, but in many ways is the problem.
