Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is a medical procedure. It should be prescribed for a medical condition. It should not be used for birth control. It is not a form of contraception by the very meaning of the word contraception.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Mistrust of total power placed in the hands of one entity. We were breaking the bonds of a king and were not going to put 545 kings and queens (President, 535 Congress members, and 9 Supreme Court justices)in his place.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Roman Catholic. I believe that we are here to serve our fellow man and to try to be the best person we can spiritually be. We're going to fail at times because we are human with all our weaknesses and frailties. However, we must always try to learn from our mistakes and to recommit to perfection as our ultimate goal while knowing that we will never achieve it. We have to trust in God and maintain his trust in us.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

Support conservative causes. Believe in balanced budget, checks and balances as well as separation of power in the federal government per the constitution, and that what sets us apart as a nation is our faith as described long ago by Alexis de Tocqueville. Our floundering at this point in our history is due to losing contact to that foundation. Regarding question 13, the founders established a democratic republic, not a pure democracy. That is why I disagreed. A democratic republic IS the best form of government

-One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all... -We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. -"that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom. . . and that government of the people. . .by the people. . .for the people. . . shall not perish from the earth." -Non sibi sed patriae (Latin for "not for self, but country") These and the constitution are what would guide me in public service to the citizens of Michigan's 13th Congressional District. I would be bound to the people of the district, to the state, and to the country in carrying out the duties of your representative in the people's house, the House of Representatives in the US Congress. We must again become the shining city on the hill for all the world to see, a beacon of hope and inspiration.
