QUESTIONNAIRE

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

1. Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

Strongly Agree

2. It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Strongly Agree

6. Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

7. Marriage is a union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Mistrust of total power placed in the hands of one entity. We were breaking the bonds of a king and were not going to put 545 kings and queens (President, 535 Congress members, and 9 Supreme Court justices)in his place.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

My main concern are those with in and behind the scenes in government who are seeking the destruction of our country. They pose a threat to our way of life and to our country's standing as a nation that the world looks to for inspiration. They are as big a concern as the terrorists, rogue states, and the governments of Russia and China. The second concern is the over reach of the federal government. The Constitution specifically limits the powers of the fed and reserves the rest of the power for the states and the citizens. Limiting federal involvement will cut government cost and put the power back in the hands of the people. A third concern is the lack of fiscal responsibility in Washington, D.C. This can be helped with a balanced budget amendment and with term limits. The business as usual mindset has corrupted the Congress and brought great harm to the citizens of this country.

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Abortion is a medical procedure. It should be prescribed for a medical condition. It should not be used for birth control. It is not a form of contraception by the very meaning of the word contraception.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Roman Catholic. I believe that we are here to serve our fellow man and to try to be the best person we can spiritually be. We're going to fail at times because we are human with all our weaknesses and frailties. However, we must always try to learn from our mistakes and to recommit to perfection as our ultimate goal while knowing that we will never achieve it. We have to trust in God and maintain his trust in us.
